IMPROVEMENT IN BIRD-CAGES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 150,884, dated May 12, 1874; application tiled February 10, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, GEORGE R. OsEoRN and BENJAMIN A. DRAYTON, of the city, county, and State of Newr York, have invented certain Improvements in Bird-Cages, of which the following is a specification:
The nature and object of the invention are, the production of a base for a bird-cage With the feet so constructed that they cannot be easily disarranged or removed with slight-violence, as is often the ease with all styles heretofore made; also, to lessen the cost of production.
The accompanying drawing shows a base, with the feet raised from the metal of which the Whole is composed, indicated in Fig. 1, hat View, by letters A AA A, and in Fig. l, ed ge or side View, with section showing foot A.
The feet, as shown in Fig. l, A A A A, and Fig. 2, A A are raised, under the drop or other suitable press, from the solid metal of which the base is composed, instead of separate and frail pieces riveted or soldered to the under side of the base, as heretofore arranged. This arrangement, it Will be seen, lifts the base a suit able height, and cannot be easily disarranged.
