To all whom it wm concern:

Be it known that we, IVAunon E. PiNNnr and Tnoarixs DONAHUE, citizens of the l nited States, residing at Providence, and State of Rhode Island, have invented new and useful Improvements in Shade I-Iangers, of which the following is a specification This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in shade-hangers, and the primary object thereof is to provide improved means for securing or holding the brackets in position on a window frame.

A further object of the invention is to provide improved; means for mounting inside and outside shades, as well as inner and outer curtains, or as commonly styled over-dra peries in position. l

A still further object of the invention is to provide means for enabling adjustment of the various curtain and shade supporting parts, and also to provide a structure of hanger which is of simple and economical construction.

The invention also aims to provide a hanger of the type set forth which is secured in position without the use of driven fastening, and has still further and other objects which will be later set forth and manifested in the course of the following description.

In the drawings Figure 1, is a front elevation showing the invention applied in position; Figure 2, is a detail perspective view of one of the brackets, and Figure 3, is a top plan view, broken away, of Figure 2.

In proceeding in accordance with the present invention a lower L-shaped jaw 1 is employed having prongs or points 2 extending upwardly from its lower end or foot, the latter being provided with a depending member 3 formed to receive one of the shade pintles of the outer shade. The arm 4; of

latter being adjustably secured to the arm 4 by means of screw 6. From the above it will be seen that in order to securev the brackets in position, the parts 15 and the jaws 7 are engaged with the top of the window frame, and the jaw 1 is then adjusted to engage the under side of the top of the window frame, whereupon the screw 6 is turned to rigidly connect the jaw 1 to the member 5. The set screw 9 is then turned to drive the points 8 into the top of the window frame. It will be seen thatthe parts 5 and 13 can be adjusted by means of the

12 and 14 so as to occupy any desired position to accommodate the inner and outer shade rollers. The body 10 is thus supportedby each of the parts 5 and 13, the latter parts in turn being supported against downward movement by their engagement with the top of the window frame. The device thus constitutes but three major parts namely brackets 5 and 13 and body 10 which connects the brackets.

Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a shade and curtain hanger, a

bracket including a horizontal slotted body, L-shaped clips at the outer end of the body inverted Lshaped member having a vertical set screw at its top, a aw slotted to adjustably receive the L-member and engaged by the last named set screw and having points to bite into. the top of the Window frame, a set screw in the body slot for adjustably securing the L-member to the body, and an L-shaped jaw having a socket to receive the lower end of the L-member, a screW for securing the socket to the L-member, a pintle bracket depending from the foot of the i.- jaW, and upwardly extending points carried by the foot of the L-jaw to engage in the under side of the top member of the Window frame.

2. In a shade and curtain hanger, a bracket including a horizontal body memher, a shade supporting member adjustably carried by the body member and having a part formed to engage on top of the WindoW frame, an L-jaW having a shade pintle engaging part and having points formed to engage in the under side of the top of the Window frame, an L-member adjustably secured to the body member and to the L-jaw, a slotted jaw slidable on the L-member and having points formed to engage the top of the Window frame, and means carried by the L-member to engage the last named j aW to adjustably force the points thereof into the Window frame.

3. In a shade hanger, a bracket including a body, a pair of spaced shade roller supporting members each adjustably secured to the body, one of said members having a part engaging the top face of the top of the Window frame, and means to secure the other of said members to the Window frame including parts engaged With the top and bottom faces of the top of the Window frame.

In a shade. and curtain hanger, a body having curtain pole supporting means on one end, a pair of independent shade roller supporting members on the opposite end of the body, means to adjustably connect said members to the body, one of said members having a part engaging the top face of the top of the Window frame, and means to secure the other of the shade roller supporting members to the Window frame by engagement With the upper and lower faces of the top thereof.
