IMPROVEMENT IN FOUNTAINS FOR SODA-WATER, & c.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 145,139, dated Dtcember 2,1873; application filed September 20, 1873.
To an whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRIEDERICK W. VVEIsE- BROOK, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Fountains for Soda-Water; and
I do hereby declare that the following is a full,
clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification.
The invention will first be fully described, and then pointed out in the claims.
The drawing is a vertical section of a fountain constructed according to my invention.
A is the cylinder; B, the removable bottom, having downward flange b. 0 represents the hoops around the cylinder; D, the lining; E, an overlapping cover; F, the dischargepipe, and G the discharge-cock. The lining is made to loosely fit the cylinder, and is held to the cover and to the discharge-tube by the flanged nuts I J. The bottom B is attached to the lower end of the cylinder A by means of a peculiar base-piece, L, the hoop C, and screws H, so that it may be readily detached. The base-piece L has a recess, 1 l, to receive flange b, and also hoop G and cylinder A. When the bottom B, pipe F, and nut I are removed, the lining D and nut J may be taken out.
By making the fountain in this manner the expense of the cylinder is greatly lessened, and all needed repairs to the lining easily and cheaply made.
The nut gis riveted or otherwise fastened to the lining, so as to be removable with it.
What I claim as new is 1. The nuts 1 J, combined with the pipe F, lining D, and cover E, as and for the purpose described.
2. The bodyA and flanged bottom B b, com bined with a base, L, provided with recessesl l, as and for the purpose described.-
