I specification.
This invention relates to pen 'or pencil clips, it being the object of the invention to provide a clip having means to cause the same to firmly grip the pocket of the user, to eliminate any possibility of the clip and article supported thereby from becomin disconnected and lost. a
A further object of the invention is to provide a device of this character whlch Wlll permit the clip and article supported thereby to be readily and easily posltioned.
Nith the foregoing and other ObJQClLS 1n view which will appear'as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and 1n the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of.
the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of whatis'claimed, without departing from the spirit'of the invention.
Referring to the drawings Figure 1 illustrates a side elevational view of a pen cap supplied with a clip constructed in accordance with the present invention.
Figure 2 1s a Figure 3 is a plan View of the gripping end of the clip.
Figure 4 is a sectional view taken on line 4& of Figure 2.

forming the feature of the invention being known manner.
The clip includes a relativelylong arm formed of suitable flexible material and is provided with a head 7, formed in the form of a sphere and at one end thereof, the head being cut away to provide a slot to accommodate the roller 8, which is rotatably sup ported within the head as by means of the shaft 9, which extends through the head and intersects the slot. I
As shown, the roller 8 is provided with a plurality of notched portions providing peripheral ribs 10, which ribs or teeth have secured to, the cap in any suitable or well their side walls tapered so that the edges thereof will bite into the cloth in which the pocket is formed, and firmly support the clip and article.
It is obvious that when the clip is applied, the ribs of the roller 8 will bite into the clOth and permit the device to be readily positioned on the pocket of the user, the ribs causing the roller 8 to roll while the clip and article are being positioned. v
Having thus described the" invention, what-is claimed as new is In a device of the character described,a
relatively long arm having a spherical head formed at one end thereof, said head having a cut out portion, a roller supported by the head within the cut out portion, said roller having a plurality of teeth formed on the periphery thereof, the teeth extending beyond the surface of the spherical head to bite into a supporting element. 7
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto afiixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
