Referring to the drawing:
Figure l is a front elevational view of a holder constructed in accordance with the invention, a portion thereof being broken away.
Figure 2 is a sectional view taken on line 22 of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of the modified form.
As shown by the drawing, the holder is in the form of a sheet metal base formed with a curved extremity 16, which curved extremity cooperates with the band 17, that overlies the face of the base to grip a pen or pencil positioned under the band.
Curved fingers 18 are stamped from the base 15 and are curved in the direction of the band 17 to set up a binding action be- Serial No. 649,310.

In the form of the invention as shown by Figure 2 of the drawings, the device includes a length of sheet metal bent upon itself, to provide opposed jaws 19, each of which being formed with a plurality of curved portions 20 that cooperate, when the jaws are in posit-ions as shown by Figure 3 to clamp articles such as pencils or the like therebetwen.
A clasp 21 is also secured to the device in order that the same may be positioned in the pocket of the user against displacement.
l Vhat is claimed as new is 1- 1. In a holder, a body portion having one edge thereof curved inwardly, a band secured to the body portion adjacent to the opposite edge thereof, and said band adapted to engage an article positioned thereunder and set up a binding action between the article and the inwardly curved end of the body portion.
2. In a holder, a body portion, a band overlying the body portion and spaced therefrom, said body portion having fingers disposed under the band, said fingers adapted to set up a binding action with the band to hold an article supported therebetween, and said body portion having one end thereof curved inwardly.
8. In a holder, a body portion, a band secured to the body portion and overlying a portion thereof in spaced relation therewith, spring fingers stamped from the body portion and extending towards the band directly under the band, and said spring fingers adapted to set up a binding action between the band and an article positioned thereunder.
in testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
