Description

Sept. 25, 1923. 1,468,894
J. ZAJICEK, JR
EAR AND NAIL CLEANER Filed March 12, 1923 3 Z a Q Patented Sept. 25, 1923.
UNITED sraras I water JOSEPH znarcnk, m, or new. YORK, v. Y.
EAR AND NAIL CLEANER.
Application filed March 12, 1923. Serial No. 624,520.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J OSEPH ZAJIGEK, Jr.,
a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in an Ear and Nail Cleaner, of which the following is a specification. V
This invention relates to improvements in toilet articles and has for its prime object to provide an instrument that can'be used for various purposes.
A further object of the invention is to provide an instrument of the character stated, which is formed from a single piece of metal and which can be easily carried in a vest pocket or. a small hand purse.
A still further object of the invention is to provide an instrument which is simple in construction, durable, efficient for the purpose intended, and one that can be manufactured and sold at arelatively low cost.
These and like objects of the invention will be better understood as the description follows and as is specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
Referring to the accompanying drawing which forms a part of this specification and which clearly illustrates the construction and use of my improved instrument,
Figure l is a perspective view of an instrument constructed in accordance with my invention.
Figure 2 is a top plan view of same.
Figure3 is an edge view of same, and
Figure 4 is a horizontal section taken on line ll of Figure 2.
Referring to the accompanying drawing in detail, like characters will be used to designate like parts in the'different views.
In the drawing, the numeral 1 indicates as a whole my improved toilet article, which comprises a body 2 that tapers to form a enlarged portion of the body is provided with shoulders 4 and has a neck 5 extending outwardly from the shoulders which is provided on each side with a roughened sursharp point or edge 3 at one. end, while the ed, while the shoulders l permit the cuticle v of the nails to be pushed backwardly and the roughened. surfaces 6 on each'side of the neck 5 provide a nail file. 7 r The extreme end of the neck portion which is rounded and-provided with a concaved surface 7, permits the instrument to be used as an ear cleaner, therounded portion preventing the same from injuring the drum of the ear nany manner and the shoulders l limit the inward movement of the neck 5 within the ear.
In view of the foregoing description of my inventiontaken' in connection with the accompanying drawing, it is thought that any further explanation .as to the construction, operation, and objects of same is unnecessary.
While I have shown and described the preferred form of my invention, I realize that various minor changes maybe resorted to, without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed, and there 7 5 fore, I do not wish to limit myself to the exact details of construction shown, nor to the combination and arrangement of parts.
What I claim as new and desire to secure, by Letters Patent is: V
' A device of the character described comprising a body tapering towards one end to provide a sharp, pointed edge and the op posite end forming shoulders and havinga neck extending outwardly therefrom, said neck being provided with a roughened surface at each side thereof, and an ear cup formed on the extreme end of the neck portion as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony whereof I have afiixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
JOSEPH ZAJICEK, JR.
