Description

March 2 1926.
A. H. GOSHIA COMB Filed Nov. 24, 1924 gwoentoo A w w 6 H m s a L A Patented Mar. 2, 1926.
ALBERT H. GOSI-IIA, OF TOLEDO, OHIO.
COMB.
Application filed November 24, 1924. Serial No. 752,001.
1 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT H. GOSHIA, a citizen of the United States, residing at T0- ledo, in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combs, of which the fol.
lowing is a specification.
The present invention appertains to improvements in combs and aims to provide a device of this nature having a curved back to fit the hand of the user and at the same time strengthen the comb.
Other objects of the invention are to provide a comb with a back turned over upon 1 itself so as to provide a trough or groove for receiving a curling iron to rest in the groove thereby aiding in marcellingor curling the hair and preventing the iron from burning the person. 7
A still further object of the invention is to provide a device of this nature having a simple and efficient structure, one which is Ieliable, inexpensive to manufacture, strong, durable, and well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a perspective View of the comb embodying the features of my invention,
F gure 2 is a section therethrough, and Figure 3 is a detail perspective view showmg one end of the comb inverted.
Referring to the drawing in detail it will be seen that the comb consists of the usual teeth 5 between the end teeth 6 which are stronger than teeth 5. A back 7 is provided for supporting the teeth 5 and 6 is curved over toward the teeth so as to be arcuate in end elevation as is shown to advantage at 8.
The curling iron may be engaged in the trough which is thus provided by the curved back as is illustrated to advantage in Figure 2.
It is evident that changes in the details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
A comb comprising a relatively flat longitudinal bodyfashioned to provide a plurality of comb teeth, the body at the upper longitudinal edge thereof being transversely curved to provide an overhanging inverted 60 U-shaped member, such U-shaped member being adapted to'receive a curling iron to protectthe operator while in the act of curling ones hair.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
ALBERT H. GOSHIA.
