enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and usethe .same,-reference being had to the accompanying; drawings, which form a part. of this specification. This invention relates 3 to {combination pliers,.and the objeetofthe invention is .to provide a pair. of pliers havingthe combined utility of a'pair, of pliers and a wrench. .A further object'ot the inventionjis to provide a device of the character describednhaving a solid and a stamped handle, eachprovidejd with a jaw, the stam-pedhandle being adapted to'fit over. the'other and being pivoted ,to a member. movable longitudinally of the said solid handle whereby-the jawsmaybe spaced apart any desired distance, within the limits of the device. 1 A still further 'objectfof the invention is to provide a pair of pliersin which one handle is movable longitudinally of the other handle by a worm and rack, the said handle being provided with jaws spaced apart or brought together by rotation of the worm and the faces of the jaws extending in parallel relation when the handles are brought together. These objects. and the several novel features of the invention are hereinafter more fully described and claimed, and the preferred form of construction by which these objects are attained is shown in the accompanying drawingsin which- Figure 1 is an elevation of a pair of pliers embodying my invention,

the member 6. Between the members 12 and 13, of the member 6,] I Hprovide a short piece of tubingiflwhich holds the members 12 and 13, in spaced relation as .S Q i e. Par u arly mFig. Th h ndle 1.5 mad P fer ly s etm ta bentio a U-shjape in cross-section and provided with outwardly extending ends 17 which fit over the handle 1 and which are pivoted to the members 12 and 13 by the pin 1.4:- The outwardly extending end 17 is also provided with a gripping jaw 18 opposite the gripping jaw 2, the member 18 being formed as shown in Fig. 6 and cut away at the side to receive the members v17 which are secured thereto by the rivet 19.
In operation the handles 1 and 15 are separated as shown in Fig. 2, which separates the jaws 2 and 18 of the device, and by clos ing the handles as shown in Fig. 1 the jaws are caused to grip. When the device is to be used as a nut wrench the gripping jaws are separated or brought together by rotation of the worm 11, it being necessary that the jaws be spaced apart approximately the diameter of the nut. at which time the handles may be brought together causing the jaws of the pliers to engage two opposite faces of the nut. It will be noted that at any adjustment of the handle 15 on the handle 1 when the device is closed, the upper and lower jaws always extend in parallel relation thereby making the device very eflicient for gripping a nut or the like. Th1.s device may also be used wherever ordlnary v pliers ma used, and in addition will grip lar er ob ects more firmly on acoountfof the the; rack, an-movable,--member haying in turnedyends riding inthe said grooves, a
