UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
TIE HOLDER, AND' FASTENER.
Specication of Letters Patent.
Patented Jan. 10, 192% Application led August 9, 1920. Serial No. 402,210.
T 0 all whom it may concern: u
Be it known that I, PETER F. SIZE, a citizen of the Dominion of Canada, residing at Calgary, in the county of Calgary and Province of Alberta, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tie Holders and Fasteners, of which the following is a specification.
`This invention relates to a simple and novel means of holding ties and attaching same to a collar.
The object of my invention is to provide a means whereby ties can be tied on a collar and remain thereon without untying and when desired they can be fastened in proper position in relation to a collar.
vWith these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts as Vwill be hereinafter fully described, illustrated yin the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claim hereunto appended.
Y Figure l is a back view showing my improved construction.
Fig. 2 shows an enlarged detailed view of my improvement.
Referring to the drawings like numerals designate like parts in the various drawings.
As seen in Figure 2 the tie parts are formed from wire being bent into proper shape. The depending tab is formed as indicated at l0, one side being bent to provide an inwardly and upwardly extending opening as at l1. The ends are then bent and extend outwardly on both sides and loop back to the centre. These outwardly extending ends are wound to form a corded portion as at l2. This modified form can be made up very cheaply, as it can be made of a continuous piece of wire.
From the foregoing it is thought that the construction of my invention will be clearly understood, and, therefore, a more extended explanation has been omitted.
I claim- As an improved article of manufacture, a tie holder formed of a single piece of wire bent upon-itself to form a holder member, the ends of the'wire bent back upon themselves to form a twisted portion, said wire being bent to form a depending tab and an upwardly and inwardly extended opening with the wire upon opposite sides of said tab coiled around the holder member.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
I). F. SIZE.
