which the following is a specification.
The invention relates more particularly to a bracket for attachment to a metallic wash tub, sink, or the like, to provide a securing'member to which a Vwringer may be clamped.
Metallic wash tubs and sinks are almost universally formed with an outstanding horizontal flangearound their upper edges, and these flanges make it very difficult if'not impossible to secure a clothes-wringer in position, and the primary object of this invention is to provide abracket of extremely simple and practical construction which may be bolted or otherwise secured to the flange of the tub or sink and which will afford a clamping base to which the clotheswringer may be secured- Another and more specific object of the invention is to provide a bracket of thisvnature which may be formed from a lsingle piece of sheet metal with a few stamping and bending operations, which may be carried on at a small cost. l/Vith these and other objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter fully described, illustrated and claimed.

Referring in detail to the drawings by numerals, 1 designates a metallic tub having an outwardly extending horizontal flange 2 around its upper edge and 3 designates a clothes-wringer of the ordinary construction which is provided with the customary arm.

Thebrackets'are preferably used in pairs, one for each leg of the wringer, and each bracket is formed from a single piece of sheet metal, bent to provide a body portion having an upstanding clamping base formed with the inner wall 7 and the outer parallel'wall 8, which walls are connected at their upper edges by the horizontal wall 9. The lower edge of the wall 7 is bent inwardly at substantially right angles providing the horizontal flange l0, and the material forming the bracket is bent inwardly from the bottomV of the wall 8 to provide the base wall 11 on the forward or inner edge of which is formed the angular flange l2 which extends downwardly across -the edge of the tulo flange 2 and then under said flange as a basewall parallel to basewall 11 in engagement with the lower face thereof as clearly shown. Side walls l3-are formed on the side edges of the vertical wall, extend downwardlyand inwardly across the side edges ofthe wall 7'and have their lower end edges turned under the wall 11 as shown in Fig. 3. The wall 11 is offset upwardly 4a slightdistance from the flange 2 to provide a channel or pocket for the inturned ends 14.
The side walls 13 are triangular in shape and their lower porticcis extend inwardly beyond the side edges of the walls 7 and these walls and the flange 10 form a pocket in lwhich one of the legs of the wringer will fit. A bolt 15 extends through the flange 10, wall ll, flange 2 of the tub and the bottom o'f the angular flange 12, and is secured in position by the nut 16, thus providing a means for securing the bracket to the flange 2. By spacing the walls 7 and 8 a better clamping base is provided for engagement with the clamp 5 and by off' setting the wall 11 to accommodate the inturned end 14, a good even surface is provided for engagement with the top flange 2.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the drawings, it will be seen that I have provided a very practical, substantial, and cheaply manufactured wringer bracket which may be quickly secured to the flange of a. tub or sink and which is provided with a pocket to receive one of the wringer legs and which is also provided with clamping base to which the wringer may be clamped.
While. I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it
will be understood that minor changes in construction and arrangement of parts may be made withontdeparting from the spirit and scope of the invention claimed.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l. A wringer bracket comprising an .integral strip O'rsheet metal bent to form an upstanding standard; paralllel clamping base walls bent at an angle to said standard `and forming a channel lto receive asupport of two spaced7 connected, parallel walls, one
of said walls having an extension at substantially right angles thereto to form a bottom wall; theJ other wallbeing bent in a plane parallel -to the extension of the lirst wall and engaging therewith; side walls on said 'standard extending beyond one `face `thereof lforming a pocket, said side walls hav-.ing their lower ends turned 'under the lower face of the bottom wall; an angular flange formed on one edge of said bottom wall providing a channel adapted to receive a supporting member and means 'for securing said bracket onto said supporting member.
3. A wringer bracket including a flood)7 having an npstanding standard; a bottom `member Y `and wall connected to saidV standard and extending at an angle thereto; side walls connected to said standard and extending beyond one face thereof forming a pocket, said Side walls having their lower ends turned under said bottom wall; an angular fiange `formed on one end of said bottom wall and extending rearwardly parallel to said bottom wall providing a channel adapted to receive the supporting member and a fastening means extending through said bottom wall and rearwardly extending flange positively securing said bracket onto the supporting member.
4L. A wringer bracket comprising a body portion having an upstanding standard; a bottom wall connected to said standard; side walls connected to the standard and extending beyond one face' thereof 'forming a pocket; said side walls having their ends turned under the bottom of the pocket and an angular flange formed on one edge of said bottom wall providing a channel pocket adapted to receive a supporting means for securing said bracket on said supporting member.
