Be it known that I, SVANTE VERNER HOLM, subject of the King of Sweden, residing at St. Eriksgatah 16, Stockholm, Sweden, in.

the Kingdom of Sweden, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Devices for the Carrying of Curtain-Rods and the like, of which the following is a specification. 1

The present invention has for its object devices for the carrying of curtain rods, drapery poles, and the like. The device is composed of a hook intendedto be fastened into sockets or brackets, suitable for the purpose, fixed to a wall, window-frame, or the like, and of members united or connected with the said hook which are intended to fasten around and hold securely the rod in question.

In order to make plain the invention, a form thereof is shown, by way. of example, on the accompanying drawing, in Figure 1 in lateral view, and in Fig. 2 in front view. Fig. 3 shows in a similar manner to Fig. 1 a form furnished with double block pulleys for the running cords, and Fig. 4: a sec tion of the same along the dotted line in Fig. 8.

The invention is described first with reference to Fig. 1. 1 designates the hook, which is intended to be detachably hooked into ,a fitting or socket 2 fixed in some suitable manner to door frame or window frame, wall, or the like 3.

The projecting part 4 of the hook 1 is at its front end furnished with a reduced part 5, so that a shoulder 6 is formed. On the said part 5 is mounted a plate 7 which, to gether with the plate 8 shaped in a corresponding manner, forms a clamp between the upper part of which the curtain rod 9 can be jammed by means of a screw 10, which passes through the plate 8, which lat ter is adjustably held by the screw, which is screwed into a corresponding threaded boring in the end part 5 of the hook. Between the lower ends of the plates 7, 8 (in cases where a cord-pulling action is to be used) a pulley 11 serving to carry the cords 1y arranged. As is known, in selfdrawing curtains of this kind the block at one end of the curtain pole must be provlded with two rollers or pulleys. An arrangement of this kind is illustrated in Figs.

3 and 4, which arrangement in other respects resembles that shown in Fig. 1 except that a partition 12 is arranged betwen the two pulleys and the plates 7 8, in the manner indicated by Fig. 3, which plates are bent outward in such a manner that they leave room for the pulleys. In order to obviate wear and tear of the cords, the edges 13 of the plates 7, 8 are suitably bent over or rounded in the manner indicated by Fig. at.

This arrangement makes it possible for the rods in question to be fixed and taken down with the greatest ease.

Having thus described my invention, I declare, that what I claim is:

1. A device for carrying curtain rods and the like comprising a member having a forwardly projecting portion, a shoulder formed on said portion, clamping plates, one adapted to bear against said shoulder, means for holding the other on the end of said por tion and exerting a clamping action on said plates, said plates being adapted to clamp a curtain rod,

3. A device for carrying curtain rods and the like comprising a member having a forwardly projecting portion, a shoulder formed on said portion, clamping plates, one adapted to bear against said shoulder, a
