l Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 124,721, dated March 19, 1872.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY CLEMENT, of Rising Sun, Ohio county, State of Indiana,
have invented a new and useful Improvement in Wagon-Jacks. A
To enable others to make my wagon-jack vI will proceed to describe its formation, referrin g to the drawing of the several parts of same hereto attached and forming part of this specication.
Letter A represents a perspective drawing -of my wagon-jack as it stands ready for use,
of these legs bear against a center bolt,`D,
running through and holding the uprights B B together; they are held and hindered from extending beyond the bolt by bearing against it and against each other so that they cannot .spread out further. The center bolt D, held by the screw h, has attached to it a movable stay or brace rod, G, which extends over and acts on the lever E at the notches g g g, made at certain required distances, and so adjusted as to suit the height of the Wagon, dray, or other vehicle, holding the lever in the required position. E is the lever for raising the vehicle when the wheel is required to be put on or taken oli', and acts between the upright pieces B B at e e e e and held there by amovable iron pin, F, running through the upright pieces.
What I claim as my invention is- A Wagon jack consisting of two upright pieces, of wood or iron, havingJ movable legs extending laterally, and a liever held in position by a stay or brace rod acting in notches, arranged to act substantially as and for the purpose hereinbet'ore set forth and described.
