IMPROVEMENT IN EXTENSION SCAFFOLDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 129,978, dated July 30, 1872.
Specification describing a new and useful Improvement in Extension Seaffolds, invented by ISAAC NOGGLE, of Butler, in the county of Montgomery and State of Illinois.
The object of this invention is to provide suitable and convenient means to enable masons and others to raise themselves to their work; and it consists in an extension framework constructed so as to be used as a sca'fiold or staging, as will be hereinafterdescribed.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure l is an elevation of the device, showing the parts put .together as when in use. Fig. 2 is an end view of the extension legs. Fig. 3 is a view of the rail detached.

Each of the legs, as well as the rail, is made in two parts, connected together by bands, so that they will slide in contact with each other.

Havingthus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent An article of manufacture consisting of twopartbanded legs A 0, connected at top by screw-bolts so as to form slot F, the springs I J, the brace-rods E, and the banded two-part rail 13, having inclined recesses g, constructed and put together as and for the purpose described.
