Description
L. V. ARONSON.
NECKWEAR. APPLICATION FILED MAR. 9. 1915. RENEWED DEC. 21. 1916.
Patented July WITNESSES UN 1T STATES Aid 1 LOUIS V. ARONSON, OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY.
NEGKWEAR.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LOUIS V. ARoNsoN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Neckwear, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to improvements in neckwear, more particularly to the type generally known as stocks. I-Ieretofore, with neckwear of this character it was not possible to obtain the so-called four-in-hand or the bow effect therewith owing to the fact that the tie portion thereof is sewed or otherwise permanently attached to the stock portion. It is the object of the present inven tion to so associate the tie portion proper with the stock or collar portion that an adj ustinent 01' sliding motion between the same is possible, permitting of a four-in-hand, bow tie or the like to be made in the usual manner.
In the accompanying drawings which illustrate the invention Figure 1 shows in perspective the improved stock tie in assembled position.
Fig. 2 is a plan thereof.
Fig. 3 is a plan of the stock or collar portion.
Fig. 4 is a detail fragmentary view illustrating the manner of assembling the tie for use.
Similar characters of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
Referring to the drawings, 11 designates the stock or collar portion of the tie which is made of suitable width and may be provided for attachment with the usual button-hole '12 and loop 13 respectively at the front and rear thereof, if desired. The stock is provided, furthermore, with a narrow transverse slit 14 or equivalent means at one end Specification of Letters Patent.

and through which the other end 15 of the tie, somewhat tapered for the purpose, is adapted to be passed (Fig. 4) as heretofore.
This narrowed end 15, however, is provided with a transverse narrow slit 16 or equivalent means through which a tie member 17 may be passed, and which member may be of the four-in-hand type shown herein, by way of example, bow type or any other suitable form. The same is not securely attached to this end 15 as formerly, but the narrow neck band 18 thereof is arranged to slide through the said slit 16. This will enable the tie 17 to be suitably shifted or drawn therethrough to allow the desired form of tie to be made, said portion 18, moreover, serving to lock the stock 11 against separation. Not only, therefore may various forms of ties be thus worn in connection with the stock, but the use of various combinations of color or material therewith is possible. The improved neckwear also lends itself more readily to laundrying as the two parts thereof are readily separated.
I claim l. Neckwear comprising a stock or collar member provided at one end with a slit and having its other end narrowed to pass through said slit, and a tie member attachable to the free end to slide therethrough.
2. Neckwear, comprising a stock member provided with transverse slits at its opposite ends through one of which one end of the stock is adapted to be passed, and a tie member slidable through the other slit.
Signed at Newark, in the county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, this 6th day of March, A. D. 1915.
LOUIS V. ARONSON.
