Description
O. B. HAWES.
SYRIIIGE ANDTUBE HANGER. APPLICATION FILED Aus.3, 191e.
LQQSD Patented May 8, 1917.
Witnesses "UNITED FATENT @WHICH OLGA B. HAWES, OF PATERSON, NEW JERSEY,
SYRING-E AND TUBE HANGER.
Application led August 3, 1916.
To ZZ whom 'it may concer/n.'
Be it known that I, @non B. IIAwns, a citizen of the United States, residing at Paterson, in the county of Passaic and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Syringe and Tube Hanger, of which thc following is a specification.
This invention relates to hangers particularly designed for use in connection with fountain syringes, one of the objects of the invention being to provide a simple, compact and etiicient device of this character which will not only act as a support for a fountain syringe but will also servens a means for holding the tube so that it will drain readily and will not become crinlled or folded.
lVith the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, can be made within the scope of what is claimed, without 'departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the accompanying drawings the preferred form of the invention-has been shown.
In said drawings t- Figure 1 is a rear elevation of the hanger.
Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof.
Fig. 3 is a section on line 3 3, Fig. 1.
Referring to the figures by characters of reference l designates a depending hook formed by one end portion of a wire 2 the other end portion of which is bent to form a support engaging eye 3. Another wire has its end portions twisted about and with the wire 2 as indicated at l, this second wire 5 being shaped to provide an elongated arcuate frame 6 which extends laterally and downwardly in opposite directions from the wire 2 and has its end bent to constitute downwardly converging depending loops 7.
Specication of Letters Patent.
Patented Maly 8, 193W.
Serial No. 112,981.
At desired intervals the sides of the frame 6 are connected by arcuate cross strips 8, these cross strips and the depending loops 7 cooperating to form a rack for supporting one or more convolutions of tubing.
In using the device, the bag or container of the fountain syringe is suspended from the hook l, after which the entire structure can be connected to a suitable support eX- tendinel through the eye 3. rThe tube of the fountain syringe can then be looped over the rack inadc up of the frame G and the cross strips S and obviously these loops will thus be held smoothly and without abrupt bends which tend to injure the tube.
It is to be understood that if desired the hanger can be made of some material other than metal wire. For example, strands of Celluloid or the like may be employed.
Idlhat is claimed is l. A hanger including an arcuate frame, arcuate cross strips connecting the sides of the frame and coperating therewith to form a tube supporting rack, a hook depending from the middle portion of the frame, and a support engaging element extending upwardly from the middle portion of the frame.
2. A hanger including an arcuate frame formed of wire and having its ends constituting depending loops, arcuate cross strips connecting the sides of the frame and cooperating therewith to form a tube supporting rack, a wire depending from the frame at the center thereof and forming a receptacle supporting hook, and a support engaging element extending upwardly from the center of the frame.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
