GEORGE F. MAIHIAS, OF MAI-IANOY CITY, PENNSYLVANIA.
BOTTLE-CARRIER.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, GEORGE F. Mimi-ins, a citizen of the United States, residing at Mahanoy City, in the county of Schuylkill and State of Pennsylvania have invented new and useful Improvements in Bottle- Carriers of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to bottle carriers and the object of the invention is to provide a simple and inexpensive device which may be readily attached to and detached from a bottle and which forms a secure support or carrier for the same.
Further objects of the invention will ap pear as the following specific description is read in connection with the acco1npanying drawings, which form a part of this ap plication, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bottle with the device attached thereto. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the device removed from the bottle.
Referring more particularly to the drawing, 1 represents the bottle of the type commonly used for delivering milk to customers. This bottle is provided with the usual rounded flange 2 at the upper end of its neck.
The carrier is shown as comprising a single piece of wire 3 bent intermediate its length into a circular loop 4 which is adapt Specification of Letters Patent.

ed to spring over the flange 2 on the bottle neck. The ends of the wire are connected together, as shown at 5, in a manner to form a handle loop 6, and this latter loop is bent bodily at an obtuse angle to the plane of the loop l, the sides of the Wire being brought together at the point of bend and at the point of connection between the two loops.
l Vhen the loop 4 is sprung over the flange upon the neck the bottle may be conveniently carried by inserting the fingers in the loop 6 and the carrying device may be readily displaced by exerting more pressure downwardly and laterally upon the bottle than its own weight normally brings to bear upon the carrier.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new is A bottle holder comprising a single strand of spring Wire having its ends connected together, and its intermediate portion contracted to form a circular spring loop at one end and a handle loop at the other end, and said handle loop being bent at an obtuse angle to the plane of the spring loop.
In testimony whereof I athx my signature in presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE l MATHIAS.
