GEORGE A. HOWE, OF NILES, MIGHIGAN.
IMPROVEMENT IN ABRASIVE PAPER-HOLDERS,
Speeification forming part of Letters Patent No. 122,018, dated December 19, 1871 antedated December 9, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE A. Hown, of Niles, in the eounty of Berrien and State of Michigan, have invented a Polishing-Buff and Abrasive Paper-Holder, of Which the following is a speeifieation My invention relates to the fastenin g of a metallic strip or spring to the back of the butt-stick in such a manner that abra-sive paper ean be seeured to the buif-stiek or removed easily and quickly.
Figure 1 is an implement embodying my nvention. Fig. 2 is a section of the same.
B is the buifstick, ou one side of Which the bufileather is fastened, G. On the opposite side the metallio strip or spring A is hooked into the staple E, and the slotted end F is secured to the buif-stick B by the staple O and hook D.
Out the abrasive paper to the proper size, fold it around the bufl' With the edges running length- Wise of the back and fasten it there by the abovedescribed spring A.
I elaim as my invention- The combination of the metallic strip or spring A With the buff B, substantially as and for the purpose above set forth.
