One

To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I Will proceed to describe its construction, viz.:
Figure l is a longitudinal view of my invention as it appears on the under side, showing the hem or ridge B. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal view of my invention as it appears on the upper side, and
also joined to a similar strip. v Fig. 8 is a vienT of my invention as it appears When attached to the carpeting.
Fig. 1, A is a strip of tin or other metal With the edge folded or hemmed twice, forming ridge B with lap C, with holes D for fastenings. Fig. 2, A2 is a strip of tin or other metal, -With ridge B on under side, With lap O2 overlapping square end. of stripA2, With holes D2 for fastenings. Fig. 3, H is a piece of carpeting With binding A3 attached, With ridge B3 on under side, With laps C3 overlapping square ends of strips A3, with holes D3 for fastenings; the Whole forming a simple and durable binding' for oil-cloth carpetmg.
I do not claim any other kind of binding for carpets; but
What I claim as my invention is- The metallic binding A, With its ridge or lap B and overlapping ends D2 and C2 and D3, constructed as shown and described.
