LOUIS T. PYOTT, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED WISPS AND FLASKS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 121,194, dated November 21, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LOUIS T. PYOTT, of the city and county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Combined Wisp and Flask, of which the following is a specification:
The subject-matter of my invention is a new and convenient article for travelers and others, combining a flask for liquors and a clothes-wisp, the same being made to present the appearance of a common wisp, and adapted to be carried in the pocket or traveling-bag.
Figure 1 is an elevation of a combined wisp and flask illustrating my invention. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of the same on the line 2, Fig. 1.
In carrying out my invention, I take a small flask, A, say of half-pint capacity, and use the same as a foundation for the wisp, its neck 2 forming the handle of the latter. To conceal the flask and form the outer part of the wisp, sufficient long broom-straw, B, is laid up around the neck z to completely envelop the body y, and secured to the same by wrapping, m, in ordinary manner, an elastic wrapping, w, being interposed. The brush end of the wisp is then filled in with shorter straw, c, and this secured by the usual lower stitches o. A supplemental wrapping, a, retains the straw in proper position around the body of the flask. The flask is furnished with a stopper, 0, having a ring, D, by which the wisp may be hung up. The stopper (1 may preferably be of screw-form, and other details of construction may be varied. The flask may be of tin, glass, or other suitable material, and of ordinary or special shape.
What I claim as new, in this my invention, 1s-
The combination of a clothes-wisp and flask, substantially as herein shown and described.
