IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED LOCKETS AND SMELLlNG-BOTTLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 152, 197, dated June 16, 187-1; application filed 1 March 28, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Fnrnnron WAGHTER, of the city, county, and State of New'York, have invented a new and Improved Combined Locket and Smelling-Bottle, of which the following is a specification:
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a front elevation of my improved locket and smelling-bottle combined; and Fig. 2, a vertical transverse section of the same on the line 0 c, Fig. 1.

The object of my invention is to furnish, as an improved article of jewelry, a locket and smellingbottle combined, which may be finished in suitable ornamental manner, and worn as locket, watch-charm, brooch, bracelet, or otherwise.
The invention will first be fully described, and then pointed out in the claim.
In the drawing, A represents a hollow body or receptacle, made of round, oval, or other shape, and material according as fancy and taste may dictate. The body A is divided by a partition-plate, B, into two sections or parts, of which one is arranged in the usual manner as a locket, with a hinged cover or lid, 0. The
other part forms a space around the locket back of the partition-plate B, and connects, by a top aperture, a, with a neck, I), which is provided with a hinged cap or stopper, D, having rubber or cork lining d, for producing the hermetical closing of this part, to be used as a smellin g-bottle.
Any desired perfume may be placed into this space, and the whole device he finished in any desired artistic design and corresponding ornamentation, to be suspended as a locket or watch-charm, or worn as a brooch-pin, bracelet, or in any other manner, the combination of locket and smelling bottle forming a neat, practical, and useful article for ladies and gentlemens wear.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The body A, divided by partition B into two sections, the one forming an ordinary locket, with hinged cover, and the other forming a chamber, having a neck, I), and the hinged stopper D, as and for the purpose described.
