T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HERBERT E. Twis'r, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Pool-Table Attachments, of which the following is a specification.

This invention has relation to supporting attachment adapted to be placed on which are known as pool or pocket billiard tables for holding such accessories to the game as the triangular frames used in racking the pool balls, said supporting instrumentality adapted to hold the frame in a convenient and readily accessible place out of the way of players using the table and which will serve to hold the frame to prevent its being carelessly thrown on the ground and broken or otherwise injured, said attachment being readiily removable and replaceable when deslre With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts constituting the invention to be hereinafter specifically described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof wherein is shown the preferred embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modification can be resorted to which come within the scope of the matter hereinafter claimed.

In the drawings in which similar reference numerals indicate like parts in the different figures, Figure 1, is a perspective view of a preferred form of attachment for use in connection with pocket billiard tables and embodying my invention; and, Fig. 2, is a view similar to Fig. 1 of a portion of a billiard table with the device shown in Fig. 1 in position.

Referring to the drawings in detail, the reference numeral 1 denotes a form of pocket billiard table provided with the usual return trough 2 into which the balls from the table are delivered. My device is preferably adapted to be secured to one of the faces thereof and may consist of a body member 3 preferably triangular in cross section and provided with an upwardly-extending ridge 4 at one side thereof. The inner face 5 of the member which is adapted to abut against the side of the member 2 is provided with a longitudinally-extending groove or channel in. which is seated a longitudinally-extending horizontal bar 6 secured in position by hold-fast devices 7. Que end of the bar 6 is laterally turned to provide a hook or clamping member 8. The opposite end 9 of the bar projects beyond the end of the member 3 and is provided with a cylindrical extension 10 the outer end 11 of which is threaded. Adapted to be mount ed on the cylindrical end 10 is a shiftable member 12 provided at one end with a flange 13 suitably apertured to receive the member 10 and at its opposite end with a similar but wider flange 1 1 extending laterally a greater distance than the member 13 and constituting a clamp or hook adapted to cooperate with the member 8 for clamping the device to the trough 2. Mounted on the threaded portion 11 of the bar 10 is a thumb-nut 15.

The device is positioned by placing the face 5 of the member 3 against the side of the trough 2 and shifting the member 12 inwardly toward the member 8 until the flange 14L engages one end of the trough 2 and by screwing up the thumb-nut 15 the two hooks or clamps 8 and 1 1 rasp the .ends of the trough 2 and serve to hold the device detachably in position. By forming the member 3 as shown and by finishing the same to correspond with the table a neatly appearing device is provided for the purpose and yet it may be readily removed at any time without injury to the table.

When in use the triangular frame 16 is laid on the upper horizontal face 17 of the device and it is prevented from being displaced by means of the upwardly-extending ridge 4.

In constructing the member 3 it is preferable to make the same less in length than the length of one of the sides of the conventional triangular frame now in use.

I claim 1. A hanger for pool ball frames comprising a block or body portion provided with an upwardly extending flange along one of its sides, in combination with means for detachably securing the hanger to a table, said means consisting of a metallic bar upturned at one end, and an adjustable clamp arranged upon the other end of said bar.

2. A hanger for pool ball frames comprising a body portion provided along one of its sides with a projecting flange and having its opposite side channeled, in combination with means for detachably securing said hanger to a table, said means consisting of a metallic bar fitting within the channel of the body member andhaving one of its ends upturned to serve as a clamping jaw, and its opposite end reduced and threaded, an adjustable clamp supported upon the re- 10 duced end of said bar, and a nut 0n the HERBERT E.
