To all whom t may concern:

Be it known that I, FRANK C. GUTEKUNST, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kintnersville, in the county of Bucks and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Calendars, of which the following is a specication.

The invention relates to calendars, and more particularly to the class of perpetual calendars.

The object 0f the invention is the provision of a calendar of this character wherein the same is of novel form so that the calendar matter is readily and easily a.d justed for the changing thereof for keeping the said calendar up to date and accurate for perpetual use.

A further object of the invention is the provision of'a calendar of this character which is simple in construction, neat and attractive in appearance, readily and easily adjusted to render the same accurate, and also o-ne which is inexpensive in manufacture.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claim hereunto appended.

In the drawings z-Figure 1 is a plan view of my calendar, showing the front or door section open. Fig. 2 is a sectional view of Fig. 1, Fig. 3 is a perspective view of another slide.

Similar reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the, several views in the drawings.

My invention is adapted for use on any specific form of calendar of the perpetual calendar type.

It consists essentially in a rectangular shaped frame 10 preferably made from wood. In this frame will be mounted the various moving parts of the calendar adapted to expose the desired calendar information for any determinate day and year. As these moving parts form no part of my present invention they will not be described in detail.

1 provide a simple means by which any of the numerals indicated on the apron may be concealed so that attention may be directed in this manner to the particular date numeral concealed from view. Secured to the sides of the frame are taut suspension wires 39 on which are detachably engaged the slide 41 which is formed of such a size as to completely cover any of the date numerals on the apron that may be exposed to the opening 32. The side walls of the frame are each provided with a vertically spaced apart series of incut recesses in which the ends of the suspension wires 39 are secured so that the door section may be closed without interfering with these suspension wires. A. series of colored strips are also secured across the opening 82 at right angles to the suspension wires 39 so as to set apart a plurality of outlines through which the particular numerals exposed through the opening 32 may be seen. The suspension wires 39 are spaced apart in such a manner as to permit the slide member 41 which may or may not be slotted, sliding thereupon by means of its opposing beads. This slide member 41 has a bead turned around one of its edges adapted to slide upon one of said wires 39 and also has an inverted U-shaped bead formed upon the opposite edge thereof, and adapted to slide upon another of said wires 39. In this way this slide memberl 41 may be raised and with its beads disengaging themselves readily from the suspension wires that support them for it is evident owing to the fact that these suspension wires are mounted in the incut recesses in the sides of the frame that the slidable member 41 cannot be slid endwise.

Numerous modifications may be resorted to in practice without interfering with the principle of my invention herein disclosed.

What is claimed is:
