ADVERTISING DEVICE SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. '790,522, dated May 23, 1905.

Application filed March 20, 1905. Serial No. 250,&394.

Be it known that I, JOHN VRY, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York,

appertains to make anduse the same.

This invention relates to advertising devices; and the object thereof is to provide an improved device of this class which is designed for use inhotels, cafs, restaurants, ofiices,

' and similar places.

My invention comprses a book the leaves of which consist of ordinary sheets of blotterpaper, said leaves being bound together at one end and perforated transversely adjacent to said end, the book thus formed being also provided with a cover the separate side portions of which are of the same shape as the leaves and the said leaves being each provided on one side with anadvertisement or advertise'nents.

The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which the separate parts of my improvement are designated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in which- Figure l is a View of my improved advertising book or device with one side of the cover turned back; Fig.'2, a view at right -angles to Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 a view similar to sired. Thebook thus formed is also provided with a cover b, preferably composed of flexible material and bound or secured to the ends a? of the separate leaves a in the usual manner.

Each of the leaves is providedon one face or side with an advertisement or advertisements, as indicated at 0 in Fi'g; 1 and at a and d in Fig. 3, and in this way a large number of advertisements may be placed in a book of this kind.

In practice my improved advertising books or devices are distributed in hotels` cafs, restaurants, and business houses of various kinds and classes and also in private houses and other places, and in this Waythe various business concerns of any particular locality, city, or town may be provided With a cheap and effective means of advertising their particu- 4 lar Wares.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. An advertising device, comprisinga book the leaves of which are composed of blotting paper or material, said leaves being bound together at one end and being also each provided adjacent to said end With a transverse row' of perforations, substantially as shown and described.

2. An advertising device, comprisingabook the leaves of which are composed of blotting paper or material, said leaves being bound together 'at one end and being also each prop vided adjacent to said end with a transverse row of perforations, said book being also provided with a cover, substantially as shown and described. i
