*- srerriss sivreiinnn or EAQE'NE, Wiscoiis Specification of Letters Patent.
Pntentedliley 9,
Application filed September 5, 19 13; Serial 1*? 0. 788,213.
T 0 all who mil? may concern Be it known that I, Eiielsmsn Ninnsnn, a subject of the King'iof Denmark, and resi= dent of Racine in. the county of Racine and State of VVi onsin, have invented new and useful. Improvements in Package-Carriers, of which the -liv-llowing is a description, ref: ere-nee heing hedto the accompanying drowings, which are 21 part oi this specification.
This invention. relates to improvements in It is one of the objects of the present invention to provide a package carrier which may he easily attached and detached from a bundle or package tied with string or strap and when attoci edsvill term a. convenient handle for easily carrying the package.
A further object 0 he invention "is to provide e'package carrier which is strong and durable, is of simple construction and which niiiy be manufactured at 3 minimum cost; i v
With the above and other objects inwiew', the invention consists of the improved packeigecarrier and its parts and combinations as set forth in the clain, and all equivalents thereof. I
In the accompanying drawing in which the same reference chgirecters, indicate the same parts in all of the views: Figure 1 is a perspective View of the improved package carrier; Fig. 2 is a top View thereof; and Fig 3 is a transverse sectional View taken -'on line 3-3 of Fig. i.
Referring -to the drawing the numeral 5 indicates the package carrier which. is formed of 3 length of comparatively still wire having its lower portion 6 bent in a, curved form, and its opposite end portions 7 bent upwardly and over the bottom portion and sidelapping each other and. extending in opposite directions in a horizontal plane approximately parallel to each other. The
parallel portions of the carrier are spaced a slight distence apart to form a yielding wider hand grip and to permit the carrier to be easily slipped through the loop of the cord or strep of the package (not shown) to he carried. It will also be noted that the; opposite ends 9 of the carrier are hentdownwerdly to pr vide a better grip for the'hand. These bendsniay be omitted, if desired.
The yieldingspaced parallel portions of the carrier pro iide a resilient handle which serves to relieve the-strain on the hand in carrying a iaclcagc.
In use one of the end portions of the carrier is slipped through the loop of the string or strap encircling the package and the carrier is turned to swing' thc hand grip portion to upper position to be easily grasped by the hand of the user and the lower curved portion of the Carrie into engagement with the loop.
From the foregoing description it will be seen that the package carrier is of simple construction and is well adapted for the purpose described,
What I claim as my invention is:
An article of manufacture, consisting of a length of wire bent to npproxiin zitely oval shape to form a lower medial curved loop engaging portion and an upper fiat handle portion, the handle portion being formed by sidelapping the end portions of the wire in spaced relation approximately the entire.
length of said handle portion. said spacing of the overlapped portions forming a yielding handle portion of greater width than the thickness of the overlapped portions.
In testimony whereof I niiix my signature in presence of twowitnesses.
