The separator bolt 13 holds the rear ends of'the strips 5 at a suitable distance apart. so that said strips are substantially parallel onc'to the other. An arn'r 14 is hinged to each sidebar 10 0f the. washboard 10 by a screw 1!", and the lower end of each arm 14: engages the top otonc of the strips 5 in one of the notches 5' in said strips, as shown.
The rod-bolt 12 and the separator bolt 13 are furnished in several lengths to suit the various widths of standard washboards.
It will now be noted that/the attachment can be easily and quickly applied to any common washboard so as to position the Washboard firmlyover a bath tub or the like, that-the washboard isadjustable angularly, and that the attachment can be shipped knockcd own with its parts, compactly disposed.
The foregoing description covers one specific embodiment of my invention, While the following claims are definitions of the actual scope thereot I claim: i

An attachment for washboards comprising, a frame consisting of two parallel strips with bolts connecting and separating said strips. said frame adapted to be positioned and edges of a tub or the like, means for hinging one end of the Washboard between said strips on one of said bolts, and means for rigidly supporting, the other end of the wash-board on the frame, said means being adjustable to vary'the inclination of the washboard.
