IMPROVEMENT IN BABY-WALK/ERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 116,073, dated J une 20, 1871.
To all lwhom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CONRAD MAscHMANN, of Watertown, in the county of Jeiferson and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Baby-Walker; and I do hereby de-v clare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which the drawing represents a perspective view of my improved baby-walker.
This invention relates to a new baby-walker, so built as not to bey liable to tip, and provided with a flexible removable seat, and with an adjustable waist-belt and hinged table, as hereinafter more fully described.
A in the drawing represents the upper ring ofthe baby-walker, supported on eight legs or standards, B B, which have casters a a at their lower ends. The several legs are suitably braced, as at b b. The ring is rigid, and may be cushioned, if desired. To it are secured four, more or less, straps, C C, which hold a belt, D, made of leather or other fabric. The
belt is put around the childs waist, and is balanced by the straps C, which can be regulated as to their lengths at pleasure. E is a seat, made of leather, carpet, or other fabric, and secured by four, more or less, straps, d d. to buttons e 0n as many of the legs B. This seat can be removed when desired. When used, it ena-bles the child to sit while held by the belt'D. F is a table, hinged to the outer side of the ring or to a piece, f, connecting two legs. It can be held in horizontal position, as shown, by a vibrating stay beneath, and can be folded down when not used.
Having thus described my invention, Iclaimas new and desire to secure by Letters Pat ent- The baby-walker, consisting of the ring A, legs B B, straps C, belt D, iiexible removable seat E, and hinged table F, all combined substantially as herein shown and described.
