To all gnhom it may concern Be it known that I, ALBERT A. Brown, a
citizen of the United States, and a resident of thecity of Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pockets, of which the following is a specification.
, 'My invention relates to improvements in pockets especially adapted to be applied to stockings and has for its object the provision of an improved construction of this character which is simple and eliicient in use.
' The invention consists in the combinations and arrangements of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, and in Which a Figure I is a side View of a stocking provided with a pocket embodying my invention,-Fig. 2, an enlarged section taken on line 22 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3, an enlarged section taken on line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
The preferred form of construction as illustrated in the drawing comprises a pocket 4 formed of cloth or other suitable material and stitched along its side and bottom edges to a stocking 5 by a line of stitches 6. This forms another pocket between the rear ofpocket 4 andthe outer surface of stocking 5 which is adapted to contain bills or other articles not easily dislodged.
"Pocket 4: is provided with a closing flap 8' arranged to fold over the outer face thereof and fiap 8 is provided with a pocket 9 on its inner face. An elastic band 10 is arranged to hold flap 8 in closed position.

separate and distinct pockets and the elastic band 18 so arranged as to hold articles securely in all of said pockets. The constructlon is very simple and can be made at a trifling cost.
lVhile I have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carrying my invention into effect, this is capable of variation and modification without departing from the spirit of the invention. I, therefore, do not wish to be limited to the precise details of construction set forth, but desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claims.
Having described my invention what I055 ,claim as new and desire to secure by-Letters- I Patent 1s:
a closing flap for said pocket; a pocket on the inner side of said flap; and an elastic band arranged to hold said flap closed, substantially as described.
