SHADE-BRACKET.

To all whom @'25 may concern.'

Be it known that I, LEE R. DONOVAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Marysville, in the county of Ferry and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Tmprovements in Shade-Brackets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to shade brackets, which are adjustable and the objects of the same are; first, to provide a device of the above nature which affords facilities for obtaining its proper adjustment for engagement with curtain poles of diierent lengths; seco-nd, a device of this nature which will be attractive in appearance and perform its functions in an efficient and reliable manner; third, one whi-ch can be easily manufactured and placed upon the market at a very small cost.

`With the above and other objects in view, my invention relates to such details of construction and in the arrangement and combination of parts as will be hereinafter more. fully described and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

In describing` my invention in detail reference will be had to the acco-mpanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views and in which:

Figure 1, is a longitudinal sectional view of my invention. Fig. 2, is a plan view thereof showing parts of the section. Fig. 3, is a cross sectional view taken on line 3, 3, Fig. 1. Fig. t, is a fragmentary View of a portion thereof.

rlhe tubular member 1, sleeves 2 and arms 3 constitute the body portion of my invention, the sleeves being held in telescopic engagement with the tubular member 1 through the medium of the slots 4 and projections 5, while the arms slide within the sleeves and are held in place through the medium of the recesses 6, and lugs 7 EX- tensions 8, are formed upon the arms 3, thereby forming shoulders 9 and 10 as shown, the shoulders 10 having in engagement therewith substantially L- shaped brackets 11, the said brackets being secured to the extensions by the set screws 12. As is usually the case one of the brackets is provided with a cut out portion 13, while the other has an opening 14 formed therethrough. By this arrangement the removal and attachment of the curtain pole is greatly facilitated.

For the purpose of supporting the brackets upon the window frame the members 15, are provided which are enlarged at their upper ends as shown at 1G and provided with openings 17 and lugs 1S, whereby they are made capable of receiving the extensions 3 of the arms 3.

The greatest of stress is laid upon the simplicity and eiiiciency of my invention and it is thought that the advantages and novel features of the same will be readily appreciated from the foregoing inclosure.

I desire it to be understood that I might make slight changes in arrangement and combination of parts without departing from the spirit of the same, provided such changes fall within scope of the sub-joined claims.

Having thus fully described my invention what T claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is;

1. An adjustable curtain support holder consisting of a plurality of sleeves telescopically mounted in another sleeve, two arms provided with shoulders for the reception of an ordinary curtain roller support, said arms mounted in each end sleeve of the first named plurality of sleeves, and means for securing said curtain support holder to a window frame.

2. Tn a device of the character described, a tubular member provided with longitudinal extending slots, a plurality of sleeves in telescopic engagement with said tubular member, pins carried by said sleeves, said pins adapted to project int-o said slots, a plurality of arms in telescopic engagement withv said sleeves and brackets carried by each of said arms for supporting a curtain pole for the purpose described.

3. Tn a device of the character described, a tubular member provided with longitudinal extending slots, sleeves in telescopic engagement with said -tubular member and provided with pins adapted to project into said slots, each of said slots provided with longitudinal extending cut out portions, a plurality of arms slidable within said sleeves and provided with lugs adapted to project into said cut out portions and brackets carried by all of said arms for supporting a curtain pole for the purpose described.

4f. An adjustable curtain support holder consisting of a plurality of sleeves telescopically mounted in another sleeve, said first named sleeve provided with pins adapted to travel in slots in said second named sleeve, an arm telescopically mounted in each end sleeve of the plurality of sleeves, shoulders upon said arms adapted to receive an ordinary shade roller support, and means attached to the Window casing` adapted to support said sleeve and said arms.

5. An adjustable curtain support holder consisting of tivo sleeves telescopically mounted Within another sleeve, pins mounted on said first named sleeves adapted to travel in slots in said second named sleeve, an arm telescopically mounted in each of said first named sleeves, shoulders formed upon said arms, extensions upon said arms, said shoulders and said extensions adapted to securely hold an ordinary shade roller support, pins mounted upon said arms adapted to travel in slots 'in said first named sleeves, and brackets secured to the Window frame, said brackets provided with cut-out portions adapted to receive said extensions whereby said arms and said sleeves are supported adjacent a Window.

G. An adjustable curtain support holder consisting' of tivo sleeves telescopically mounted Within another sleeve, pins mounted on said iirst named sleeves adapted to travel in slot-s in said second named sleeve, an arm telescopically mounted in each of said first named sleeves, shoulders formed upon said arms, extensions upon said arms, said shoulders and said extensions adapted to securely hold an ordinary shade roller support., pins mounted upon said arms adapted to travel in slots in said first named sleeves, brackets secured to the Window frame, said brackets provided With cut-out portions adapted to receive said extensions whereby said arms and said sleeves are supported adjacent a Window, and lugs extending inwardly and formed integral With the outer extremity oi' said bracket, said lugs adaptedto prevent lateral movement of said extensions in said openings.
