DRESS-PAD.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES H. Scorr, of the borough of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dress-Pads, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact specification, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to improvements in dress-pads, worn under the corset, to take the place of padding heretofore used by persons with small busts.
The object of my invention is to provide means which will hold up the bust and give a more natural appearance to the form than if the ordinary padding were used.

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the inner side of one of the pads in an outer covering as it is usually worn upon the person. Fig. 3 is the same view without the outer covering. Fig. l is a section on line i-l of Fig. 3.

In Fig. 1, 1 indicates a pair of my dresspads in position on the wearer, under a pair of corsets 2, the lower portion of the dresspads being indicated by the dotted lines.

portion to support the bust. In Fig. 2, it is shown with an outside covering of silk or other suitable n'iaterial over it.
I is a tapered extension intended to be inserted under the tight-fitting part of the corsets for holding the bust-supporters in place.
The device is preferably formed with an inside cover of cotton or other suitable material in three parts, indicated in Fig. 4 as 3, 3' and 3, respectively, the parts being suitably joined at their edges, as illustrated in the drawings, and the whole filled with hair or other like material, as iinlicated at 5.
The shelf part 3 has underneath the cover a piece of buckram or other like material (3, which is given the shape shown in Figs. 3 and l by pressure under suitable dies, and its lower edge is turned downward, as at 7, so that it will avoid any chafing of the person of the wearer.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
A dress pad, comprising similarly shaped sides and a soft filling between said sides, each of said sides having a downwardly extending reduced portion forming a filled extension adapted for insertion within the wearers corset or undergarment, -for holding said pad in place and for producing a natural bust curve from the bottom upwardly.
