Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMIL T. PALMEN- BERG, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Garment-Form, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of the invention is to provide a new and improved garment form, more especially designed for fitting skirts, petticoats and like garments and arranged to support pins which can be conveniently removed by the operator for use in fitting the garment.
For the purpose mentioned use is made of a top piece attached to the garment form and having a pin tray and a pincushion.
A practical embodiment of the invent-ion is represented in the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both views.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the garment form; and Fig. 2 is an enlarged sectional side elevation of the upper end of the garment form.
The body A of the garment form is provided with a waist B and a top extension 0 rising a short distance from the waist B and being preferably cylindrical in form. The lower end of the body A is provided with a skeleton framework D and the body A is preferably mounted on a suitable stand E. The body A, the waist B and the top extension C are preferably formed of a wooden frame F having a fabric covering G. The garment form thus far described forms no part of the present invention, but my improvement consists essentially in a top piece H made of metal and attached to the top of the extension C. The top piece H is provided with a depending flange H extending over the upper end of the covering G, as plainly indicated in Fig. 2, to prevent the covering from fraying or unraveling at the same time giving a fine finish to the upper end of the extension C. The top piece H is provided with a marginal depression H forming an annular pin tray for containing pins to be used in fitting the garment on the form, and the said top piece H is further provided with a central depression H in which fits a pincnshion I of cork, composition or other suitable material. The top piece H is fastened in place to the top of the frame F by pins or screws J, as plainly indicated in Fig. 2. By the arrangement described the user of the garment form may conveniently remove the pins from the depression H as the said depression is adjacent to the rim of the top piece and pins may be stuck into the pincushion I for removal and use whenever desired.
The top piece H shown and described is very simple in construction and can be manufactured and readily fastened in place to give a fine finish to the upper end of the garment form.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. A top piece for a garment form, com prising a circular body having a flanged edge whereby it may be conveniently secured on aform, and further provided with depressed port-ions, at least one of which depressed portions is adapted to form a tray for holding articles utilized in fitting the parts of a garment on the form.
2. A top piece for a garment form, comprising a body having a marginal depression forming an article tray, and a central portion adapted to support a pincushion.
