SUSPENDERS.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK J. HENGY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dallas, in the county of Dallas and State of Texas, have invented certain new anduseful Improvements in Suspenders, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying draw- 111g.
This invention relates to suspenders, and the principal object of the same is to provide novel attachments therefor that will support drawers evenly both in front and in the rear so that the drawers cannot accidentally drop below the waist of the wearer.
A preferred and practical embodiment of this invention is shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a View in elevation of the improved suspenders. Fig. 2 is a central vertical sectional view thereof taken on the line 22, Fig. 1.
The improved suspenders comprise the shoulder straps 5 which have the usual adjusting buckles 6 at the forward ends and which carry the tabs 7 for engaging the front buttons of trousers and the tabs 8 for engaging the front portions of drawers. The straps 5 cross adjacent their rear ends and terminate in the tabs 9 that diverge and engage the rear buttons of the trousers.
At the pointwhere the straps 5 cross, the suspenders are reinforced by the overlapping binding 10, and said binding also fastens the upper ends of the tabs 11 to said The tabs 11 diverge and parallel the tabs 9 and their free ends are provided with buttonholes 12 for engaging buttons on the rear of drawers.

penders provide means for engaging the drawers at two points in the front and two points in the rear thus evenly supporting the drawers so that no part thereof can slip.
Stitches 13 are preferably used for fastening the binding 10 and tabs 11 to the rear end portions of the straps 5.
The buttonholes shown in connection with the drawer tabs are simple eXpedients but it is to be understood that other attaching means may be employed.
What I claim as my invention is A. suspender of the class described comprising a plurality of shoulder straps, suspending straps at the forward end thereof, said shoulder straps being connected in cross relation and having rear tabs constituting a continuation of said shoulder straps, auxiliary supporting tabs extending upwardly with said last mentioned tabs and being secured to said shoulder straps at their crossing points, joining means positioned upon each side of said shoulder straps for holding said auxiliary tabs in engagement with said shoulder straps, stitches passing through said joining means, and tabs for reinforcing the same, and holding the tabs in engagement with said shoulder straps, one of said auxiliary tabs being interposed between two of said shoulder straps at their crossing points, and the other of said auxiliary tabs being interposed between the outer face of one of said crossing tabs and the joining member of said suspender.
