T0 all whom t may concern Be it known that I, MICHAEL TONTI, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pittsburgh, in the county of Allegheny, State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Window-Shade Fixtures; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to curtain fixtures, and has for its principal object to provide a device of this character in which the supports may be readily adjusted to accommodate various widths of rollers.

Another object of the invention is to provide a support which is stamped fro-1n a piece of sheet metal in a novel manner.

A further object of the invention is to provide a device of this character'which is extremely simple in construction, is easy of application, and is cheap to manufacture.

With these and other objects in vie-w, the invention consists in the construction and novel combination of parts hereinafter fully' described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claims hereto appended; it being understood that various changes in the form, proportion, size and minor details of construction, within the scope of the claims, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or sacrilicing any of the advantages of the invention.

In the drawings; Figure 1 is a front elevation of a portion of a window, showing my invention applied thereon, Fig. 2 is a top plan view thereof, Fig. 8 is an enlarged end view of the inner end of the device detached from the window, Fig. 4; is a plan view of the blank from which the supporting arm is formed.

Like reference numerals designate corresponding parts in all the figures of the drawings.

Referring to the drawings, 5 designates an ordinary window casing, and 6 the window sash.

My invention comprises a bracket 7, which consists of a body portion 8 having one end bent at right angles to form an arm 9. The body portion 8 is provided with an elongated longitudinal slot 10, and the arm 9 is provided with a plurality of openings 11 through which screws or other suitable fastening means are passed for engagement with the edge of the window casing 5. This arm 9 is of such a length that when the same is secured as above noted, the body portion 8 will be disposed in a spaced parallel relation to` the casing 5, as will be readily observed by reference to Fig. 2 of the drawings. It will of course be understood that a bracket of this construction is secured to the window casing at either side thereof, and therefore the description of one is deemed suflicient.

Supported by each bracket 7 is a supporting arm designated as a whole by the reference numeral 12. This arm is stamped from a flat rectangular piece of metal, and one end of this metal is split longitudinally, as indicated by 13, to form arms 141 and 15 respectively, the former being considerably longer than the latter. The opposite end of the blank is transversely folded on the lines A and B to form spaced side walls 16 and 17 and a connecting wall 18. The connecting wall 18 is disposed above the body por tion 8, and the side walls 16 and 17 are disposed on opposite sides of the body portion. These side walls are provided with openings 19 and 20 respectively, one of said openings being threaded. These openings furthermore register with the slot 10 of the bracket, and disposed within the openings and the slot is a screw 21, which has threaded engagement with the threaded opening. By means of this screw, the side walls 16 and 17 may be securely clamped to the body portion 8 of the bracket, and by this means the supporting arm can be retained in any adjusted position.

The longer arm 111 of each blank 12 is bent forwardly at right angles to the wall 17, and the outer portion 22 of said arm is downwardly curved to form a seat for receiving one end of a curtain pole. The shorter arm 15 of the blank 12 extends downwardly from the wall 17 and has its ymay be easily and quickly attached to or detached from its support without removing the curtain pole.

l. In combination with a bracket arm having a longitudinal slot `formed the-rein, of a supporting arm movably mounted on the bracket arm, said supporting arm consisting of spaced side walls disposed on either side of said bracket arm, an arm integral with one oi' the side walls and projecting downwardly therefrom, the lower end thereof being twisted at right angles and provided with an opening adapted to receive one end of a curtain roller, a second arm extending outwardly from the last mentioned side wall at right angles thereto and formed at its outer end with a downwardly curved seat for receiving one end of a curtain pole, and securing means attached to the sidewalls and projecting through the said slot for clampino' said side walls to the bracket arm.

2. A supporting arm formed from a flat rectangular piece of metal having one end split longitudinally to form a long` and short arm, the end of the strip opposite the arms being bent to form opposed side walls and a connecting port-ion, one of the arms being bent at right angles to the contiguous wall and having its end curved to form a seat, the other arm being twisted at its lower end and formed with an opening adapted to rcceive one end of a cur-tain roller.
