M241897 創作說明(1) 曰本創作係/關於通用行動電信系統(UMTS ),更特別地 是’本創作係為關於無線區域網路(WLAN )及通用行動電 信系統(UMTS )間之緊密互作系統。 新型背景 存在著一個需求,即提供無線區域網路(WLAN )及通 用行動電信系統(UMTS )間緊密互作之系統架構及具有能 支援下述之架構: 於兩系統間之交接; 當終端在兩系統間交接時,通話管理及連接;以及 在兩系統間鬆散互相作用之國際漫遊通信定義表。 新型内容 WLAN及UMTS技術係有效地相結合,以相互作用及支持 一緊密互作通信定義表。UMTS之Iur介面係被用於無損失 的交接,行動網際協定(I p )則被利用於通信定義表管理 及連接,而DIAMETER通訊協定訊號則被用於認證及會計。 實施方式 第一圖顯示一系統架構1 0,其包括一公共區域行動網 路(PLMN) 12。其中公共區域行動網路12係包含用戶位置登 記/用戶訂購伺服器(HLR/HSS)14、認證授權及會計用戶設 備(AAAH)16、計費通訊閘功能(CGF)18、用戶客服20以及 整合封包式無線服務支援節點(GGSN) 22。
M241897 四、創作說明(2) 無線區域網路網際協定通訊閘(WLAN IP GW),也就是 WIP-GW 30,在結合防火牆後,可利用兩個AP建立起信號 及資料界面;例如AP 32和34。使用者設備(UE) 36以雙模 態的WLAN/UMTS UE較好。 系統中之資料處理程序如下:
在WIP-GW 30和PLMN 12的用戶客服20之間具有一行動 網際協定(Μ I P )界面。WI P - G W 3 0結合行動網際協定外部客 服與數種無線網路控制(RNC)功能,WIP-GW 30對於PLMN12 來說像是一外部客服、但對於ΑΡ來說則像是一無線區域網 路控制器(RNC),輸入的資料穿過PLMN(用戶客服)和WLAN (WIP-GW) 30之間(以輸入資料線38表示),輸出的資料則直 接從11?-6¥30流向網際網路40(以輸出網際協定資料線42 表示)。
PLMN1 2藉由使用HSS/HLR1 4以提供認證與訂購管理的服 務,DIAMETER是一種網際協定網路中處理授權、認證及會 計功能的網際主協定,在本結構中DIAMETER的使用使得以 網際協定為基礎的認證、授權及會計(A A A )程序能夠在 WIP-GW和PLMN之間正常運作。由於PLMN原本即為一種UMTS 網路,所以提供認證與授權程序的節點是HSS/HLR,而提 供會計功能的PLMN節點是計費通訊閘功能(CGF)。HSS/HLR 和CGF提供UMTS程序及信號以幫助這些功能運作,AAAH提 供以網際協定為基礎的AAA程序和與其相對應的UMTS程序 之間信號的内部工作,使得輸入或輸出於HSS/HLR和CGF的 AAA功能也能在無線區域網路系統中運作。同樣地,μ I p提
第7頁 M241897 四、創作說明(3) 供網際協定網路中的行動管理程序,在一個U Μ T S網路中, 封包轉換資料服務的行動管理程序係由GGSN所處理。本結 構中的用戶客服針對GGSN提供介於ΜΙΡ程序(於WIP-GW和用 戶客服間運作)以及UMTS行動應用部份(MAP)介面之間的内 部運作,MIP/DIAMETER信號流自WIP-GW30輸出後,途經 AAA外部(AAAF)功能44以及AAA用戶(AAAH)功能16,最後輸 入用戶客服20。而MIP登錄信息則是被納入DIAMETER信號 中並穿過無線連結48。 AAAH16針對HLR/HSS14藉由行動應用部份(MAP)(鍺介 面)於DIAMETER之内部運作,使得HSS/HLR用於認證之運作 正常。 AAAH16作為使用GPRS穿隧協定(GTP)(藉由鎵介面)的 P L Μ N什費通訊閘功能(C G F ) 1 8之介面,使得p l Μ N收費伺服 器之運作正常。 ' 無線區域網路和UMTS PLMN1 2之間的通話連續性可藉由 使用MIP(WIP-GW30和用戶客服20之間)和GTPC用戶完服?η 和GG㈣之間)而獲得,用戶客服2。提供兩』== 内部運作’通話連續性可確保使用者在存取點(Access Point,例如32及34)之間和UMTS及WLAN網路之間移動時, 其通话及網際協定位址皆能保持不變。而更為進步的是, 當使用者在各網路間移動時,GGSN22之運作正如^通^資 料的錨點(Anchor Point)。舉例來說,在結構1〇中,如果 使用者如第二圖所示地,自無線區域網路^動到UMTS網路 時(UMTS Access NW50),使用者的通話位置在GGSN22中仍
