Abstract
本实用新型涉及一种在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网各自具有利用所述通用移动通信系统及所述无线局域网之间的移动因特网协议以彼此直接传达数据的装置;所述无线局域网具有利用因特网通信协议以传输输出数据至因特网的装置;以及所述的无线局域网及通用移动通信系统对至少一个用户设备提供服务。由于本实用新型提供了上述装置,因此可以实现在无线局域网(WLAN)及通用移动电信系统(UMTS)间的紧密互通。

本实用新型涉及通用移动电信系统(UMTS),更具体地说,本实用新型涉及在无线局域网(WLAN)及通用移动通信系统(UMTS)间提供紧密互通(inter-working)的装置。
实用新型背景
存在对于这样一种体系结构的需求:其能够提供无线局域网(WLAN)及通用移动电信系统(UMTS)间紧密互通,且具有能支持下述的结构:
于两系统间的交递(handover);
当终端在两系统间交递时的会话管理及连接;以及
在两系统间松散互通的国际漫游通信定义表。
实用新型内容
本实用新型的目的是提供一种在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统之间提供紧密互通的装置,其能够提供无线局域网(WLAN)及通用移动电信系统(UMTS)间紧密互通。
本实用新型提供了一种在无线局域网(WLAN)及通用移动通信系统(UMTS)之间提供紧密互通的装置,其中所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网各自具有利用所述通用移动通信系统及所述无线局域网之间的移动因特网协议(MIP)以彼此直接传达数据的装置;所述无线局域网具有利用因特网通信协议(IP)以传输输出数据至因特网的装置;且所述的无线局域网及通用移动通信系统对至少一个用户设备(UE)提供服务。
在一个实施例中,上述无线局域网包括了用以从一移动网接收输入数据的装置。
在另一实施例中,上述移动网系为一公共陆地移动网(PLMN)。
在另一实施例中,上述公共陆地移动网中包括一主代理(HA)用以使数据通过隧道至所述无线局域网中所提供的一因特网协议通信网关(IPGW)。
在另一实施例中,HA进一步利用IP而与因特网进行通信。
在另一实施例中,上述公共陆地移动网包括鉴权、授权、计费内部,即AAA本地(AAAH),以将鉴权与所述无线局域网中所提供的一AAA外地(AAAF)进行通信。
在另一实施例中,上述AAA外地提供AAA本地与无线局域网IPGW的通信。
在另一实施例中,上述AAAH系与HA及一用户定位登记/用户订购服务器(HLR/HSS)协作,以提供AAA本地服务。
另一方面,本实用新型提供了一种在无线局域网(WLAN)及通用移动通信系统(UMTS)之间用于用户设备(US)的交递的装置,其中UE具有与该无线局域网及该通用移动通信系统通信的双重权能;且所述通用移动通信系统具有一Iur接口以支持与所述无线局域网的交递。
在一实施例中,经DIAMETER信令而利用MIP的装置,其系在用户设备于所述无线局域网及所述通用移动通信系统间移动时,提供该无线局域网及该通用移动通信系统间的会话维持。
在另一实施例中,上述通用移动通信系统系经由DIAMETER-UMTS互通而使用公共陆地移动网计费平台。
在另一实施例中,上述通用移动通信系统系使用具有用于鉴权的用户订购服务器/用户定位登记(HSS/HLR)的公共陆地移动网。
本实用新型还提供了一种在无线局域网(WLAN)及通用移动通信系统(UMTS)之间提供紧密互通的装置,其中通用移动通信系统及无线局域网各自具有利用所述无线局域网及所述通用移动通信系统之间的移动因特网协议(MIP)以彼此直接传达数据的装置;所述通用移动通信系统通过一Iur与所述无线局域网通信,以提供一用户设备(UE)从所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网的其中一方至所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网的其中另一方的交递;且所述用户设备启动该交递。
本实用新型又提供了一种在无线局域网(WLAN)及通用移动通信系统(UMTS)之间提供紧密互通的装置,其中通用移动通信系统及无线局域网各自具有利用所述通用移动通信系统及所述无线局域网间的移动因特网协议(MIP)以彼此直接传达数据的装置;所述通用移动通信系统通过一Iur与所述无线局域网进行通信,以提供用户设备(UE)从所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网的其中一方至所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网的其中另一方的交递;且无线局域网及该通用移动通信系统的其中一方启动所述交递。
本实用新型的有益效果:由于本实用新型提供了上述装置,因此可以实现在无线局域网(WLAN)及通用移动电信系统(UMTS)间的紧密互通。

具体实施方式
图1显示一系统结构10,其包括一公共陆地移动网(PLMN)12。其中公共陆地移动网12系包含用户定位登记/用户订购服务器(HLR/HSS)14、鉴权授权及计费用户设备(AAAH)16、计费通信网关功能(CGF)18、主代理20以及整合分组式无线服务支持节点(GGSN)22。
无线局域网因特网协议通信网关(WLAN IP GW),也就是WIP-GW30,在结合防火墙后,可利用两个AP建立起信令及数据界面;例如AP 32和34。用户设备(UE)36优选为双模式的WLAN/UMTS UE。
系统中的数据处理程序如下:
在WIP-GW 30和PLMN 12的主代理20之间具有一移动因特网协议(MIP)界面。WIP-GW30结合移动因特网协议外地代理与数种无线网络控制(RNC)功能,WIP-GW 30对于PLMN12来说像是一外地代理、但对于AP来说则像是一无线局域网控制器(RNC),输入的数据穿过PLMN(主代理)和WLAN(WIP-GW)30之间(以输入数据线38表示),输出的数据则直接从WIP-GW30流向因特网40(以输出因特网协议数据线42表示)。
PLMN12通过使用HSS/HLR14以提供鉴权与订购管理的服务,DIAMETER是一种因特网协议网络中处理授权、鉴权及计费功能的网际主协议,在本结构中DIAMETER的使用让以因特网协议为基础的鉴权、授权及计费(AAA)程序能够在WIP-GW和PLMN之间正常运行。由于PLMN原本即为一种UMTS网络,所以提供鉴权与授权程序的节点是HSS/HLR,而提供计费功能的PLMN节点是计费通信网关功能(CGF)。HSS/HLR和CGF提供UMTS程序及信令以帮助这些功能运作,AAAH提供以因特网协议为基础的AAA程序和与其相对应的UMTS程序之间信令的内部工作,使得输入或输出于HSS/HLR和CGF的AAA功能也能在无线局域网系统中运作。同样地,MIP提供因特网协议网络中的移动管理程序,在一个UMTS网络中,分组转换数据服务的移动管理程序系由GGSN所处理。本结构中的主代理针对GGSN提供介于MIP程序(于WIP-GW和主代理间运作)以及UMTS移动应用部份(MAP)接口之间的内部运作,MIP/DIAMETER信令流自WIP-GW30输出后,途经AAA外地(AAAF)功能44以及AAA本地(AAAH)功能16,最后输入主代理20。而MIP登录信息则是被纳入DIAMETER信令中并穿过无线连结48。
AAAH16针对HLR/HSS14通过移动应用部份(MAP)(锗接口)于DIAMETER的内部运作,使得HSS/HLR用于鉴权的运作正常。
AAAH16作为使用GPRS隧道协议(GTP)(通过镓接口)的PLMN计费通信网关功能(CGF)18的接口,使得PLMN收费服务器的运作正常。
无线局域网和UMTS PLMN12之间的会话连续性可通过使用MIP(WIP-GW30和主代理20之间)和GTP(主代理20和GGSN22之间)而获得,主代理20提供两种接口之间的内部运作,会话连续性可确保用户在接入点(Access Point,例如32及34)之间和UMTS及WLAN网络之间移动时,其会话及因特网协议地址均能保持不变。而更为进步的是,当用户在各网络间移动时,GGSN22的运作正如同会话数据的锚点(Anchor Point)。举例来说,在结构10中,如果用户如图2所示地,自无线局域网移动到UMTS网络时(UMTS Access NW50),用户的会话位置在GGSN22中仍然是固定的,且在移动当中亦能够因此而保持。当位于UMTS Access NW50时,用户设备36系通过PLMN中的UMTS无线接入网(RAN)和伺服GPRS支持节点(SGSN)组件52而能与具锚点的GGSN22沟通。无线局域网和UMTS PLMN之间的移转系通过Iur接口(以46表示)所完成,而WIP-GW支持自UMTS的Iur界面46至UMTS RAN内的无线网络控制器(RNC)的运作。
Claims (14)
1.一种在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于:
所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网各自具有利用所述通用移动通信系统及所述无线局域网之间的移动因特网协议以彼此直接传达数据的装置;
所述无线局域网具有利用因特网通信协议以传输输出数据至因特网的装置;以及
所述的无线局域网及通用移动通信系统对至少一个用户设备提供服务。
2.根据权利要求1所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于所述无线局域网包括:
用以从一移动网接收输入数据的装置。
3.根据权利要求2所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于所述移动网系为一公共陆地移动网。
4.根据权利要求3所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于,所述公共陆地移动网中包括一主代理用以使数据通过隧道至所述无线局域网中所提供的一因特网协议通信网关。
5.根据权利要求4所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于所述主代理进一步利用因特网通信协议而与因特网进行通信。
6.根据权利要求3所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于所述公共陆地移动网包括鉴权、授权、计费内部,即AAA本地,以将鉴权与所述无线局域网中所提供的一AAA外地进行通信。
7.根据权利要求6所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于所述AAA外地提供所述AAA本地与所述无线局域网因特网协议通信网关的通信。
8.根据权利要求3所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于所述AAA本地系与所述主代理及一用户定位登记/用户订购服务器协作,以提供AAA本地服务。
9.一种在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,用于用户设备的交递,其特征在于:
所述用户设备具有与该无线局域网及该通用移动通信系统通信的双重权能;以及
所述通用移动通信系统具有一Iur接口以支持与所述无线局域网的交递。
10.根据权利要求9所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间的装置,用于用户设备的交递,其特征在于经DIAMETER信令而利用移动因特网协议的装置,其系在用户设备于所述无线局域网及所述通用移动通信系统间移动时,提供该无线局域网及该通用移动通信系统间的会话维持。
11.根据权利要求1所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间的装置,用于用户设备的交递,其特征在于所述通用移动通信系统系经由DIAMETER-UMTS互通而使用公共陆地移动网计费平台。
12.根据权利要求1所述的在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间的装置,用于用户设备的交递,其特征在于所述通用移动通信系统系使用具有用于鉴权的用户订购服务器/用户定位登记的公共陆地移动网。
13.一种在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于:
所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网各自具有利用所述无线局域网及所述通用移动通信系统之间的移动因特网协议以彼此直接传达数据的装置;
所述通用移动通信系统通过一Iur与所述无线局域网通信,以提供一用户设备从所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网的其中一方至所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网的其中另一方的交递;以及
所述用户设备启动该交递。
14.一种在无线局域网及通用移动通信系统间提供紧密互通的装置,其特征在于:
所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网各自具有利用所述通用移动通信系统及所述无线局域网间的移动因特网协议以彼此直接传达数据的装置;
所述通用移动通信系统通过一Iur与所述无线局域网进行通信,以提供用户设备从所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网的其中一方至所述的通用移动通信系统及无线局域网的其中另一方的交递;以及
所述的无线局域网及该通用移动通信系统的其中一方启动所述交递。
