1271964 九、發明說明: 【發明所屬之技術領域】 本叙明係與通用行動電信系統(UMTS)有關,更特別 地是,本案係為與無線區域網路(WLAN)及通用行動電信 系統(UMTS)間之緊密互作系統有關的發明。 【先前技術】 存在著一個需求,即能提供無線區域網路(WLAN)及 通用行動電信系統(UMTS)間緊密互作之系統架構,其並 具有能支援下述之架構: 於兩系統間之交接; 當終端在兩系統間交接時,通話管理及連接;以及 在兩系統間鬆散互相作用國際漫遊通信定義表。 【發明内容】 WLAN及UMTS技術係有效地相結合,以相互作用及支 持一緊始、互作通信定義表。UMTS之Iur介面係被用於無損失 的交接,行動網際協定(IP)則被利用於通話管理及連接, 而DIAMETER通訊協定訊號則被用於認證及會計。 【實施方式】 第1圖顯示一系統架構1〇,其包括一公共區域行動網路 (PLMN) 12,而該公共區域行動網路12係包含一本籍位置登 記7本籍用户伺服器(HLR/HSS) 14、一認證授權及會計用戶設 備(AAAH) 16、一計費通訊閘功能(CGF) 18、一用戶客服20, 以及一整合封包式無線服務支援節點(GGSN) 22。 一無線區域網路網際協定通訊閘(WLANIPGw),也就 是yiP-GW30,在結合防火牆後,可利用兩個Ap建立起信號 及貧料之界面;例如AP 32和34。使用者設備(UE) 36以雙模態 1271964 WLAN/UMTS UE較好。 系統中之資料處理程序如下·· 在PLMN 12之WIP-GW30及用戶客服20之間具有一行 動網際協定(MIP)界面。WIP-GW 30係結合行動網際協定外部 客服之功能與數種無線網路控制(RNC)之功能,wip_GW3L 對於PLMN 12來說像是一外部客服、但對於Ap來說則像是一 無線區域網路控制器(RNC),輸入的資料係傳送於pLMN (用 戶客服)和WLAN (WIP-GW) 30間之通道,正如輸入資料 線38所表示,輸出的資料則直接&WIp_GW3〇流向網際網路 40,如輸出網際協定資料線42所表示。 … PLMN 12藉由使用其HSS/HLR 14以提供認證與訂購管 理的服務。DIAMETER是一種網際協定網路中處理授權、認 證及會計功能的網際主協定(IPdomainprotocol),在本 構中DIAMETER的使用使得以網際協定正為基礎的認證、授 權及會計(AAA)程序能夠在WIP-G W和PLMN之間正常運 作。由於PLMN原本即為一種UMTS網路,所以在PLMN提供 認證與授權程序的節點是HSS/HLR,而提供會計功能的八 孔臟節點是計費通訊閘功能(CGF)。HSS/HLR和CGF提供 UMTS程序及信號發送以幫助這些功能運作。AAAH^供/以 網際協定為基礎的AAA程序和與其相對應的UMTS程序間之 信號發送互作,使得輸入或輸出於HSS/HLR和CGF的AAA功 能也能在無線區域網路系統中運作,同樣地,MIp提供網際 協定網路中的行動管理程序。在一個UMTS網路中,封包轉 換資料服務的行動管理程序係由GGSN所處理。本結構中的 用戶客服針對GGSN提供介於MIP程序(於WIP-GW和用戶客 服間運作)以及UMTS行動應用部份(MAP)介面之間的互作, MIP/DIAMETER信號係自WIP-GW30輸出後,途經AAA外部 (AAAF)功能44以及AAA用戶(AAAH)功能16,最後輸入用戶 客服20。而MIP登錄信息則是透過無線連結48而被納入 1271964 DIAMETER信號發送中。 AAAH 16針對HLR/HSS 14而藉由行動應用部份 (MAP)(鍺介面)而與DIAMETEr互作,使得HSS/HLR用於認 證之運作正常。 、AAAH 16係使用GPRS穿隧協定(GTP)(藉由鎵介面)而作 為PLMN計費通訊閘功能(cgf)18之介面,以使得plmn收費 伺服器之運作正常。 無線區域網路和UMTS PLMN 12之間的通話連續性可 藉由使用MIP (於WIP-GW30和用戶客服20之間)和GTP (於 用戶各服20和GGSN22之間)而獲得,而用戶客服2〇提供兩 種介面間之互作,通話連續性可確保使用者在存取點(Access Point,例如32及34)間和UMTS及WLAN網路間移動時,其通 話及網際協定位址皆能保持不變。而更為進步的是,當使用 者在各網路間移動時,GGSN22之運作正如同通話資料的錨 點(Anchor Point)。舉例來說,在結構1〇中,如果使用者如第2 圖所示地,自無線區域網路移動到UMTS網路(UMTSAccess NW)50時,使用者的通話位置在(3(38]^22中仍然是固定的, 且因此在移動當中亦能夠保持。當位於UMTSAccessNW50 時,使用者設備36係藉由PLMN中的UMTS無線存取網路 (RAN)和伺服GPRS支援節點(SGSN)元件52而能與錨點的 GGSN22通信。無線區域網路和UMTS plmN之間的交接係 藉由Iur介面(以46表示)所完成,而WIP-GW則支援自UMTS Iur界面46至UMTS RAN内之無線網路控制器(rnc)的運作。 【圖式簡單說明】 第1圖及第2圖係分別為將本發明之原則具體化的wlAN及 UMTS網路系統架構圖。 1271964 【主要元件符號說明】 10系統架構 12公共區域行動網路 14本籍位置登記/本籍用戶伺服器 16認證授權及會計用戶設備 18計費通訊閘功能 20用戶客服 22整合封包式無線服務支援節點
