200803296 九、發明說明: 【發明所屬之技術領域】 本發明係與通用行動電信系統(UMTS)有關,更特別地 是’本案係為與無線區域網路(WLAN)及通用行動電信系統 (UMTS)間之緊密互作系統有關的發明。 【先前技術】 存在著一個需求,即能提供無線區域網路(WLAN)及通 用打動電信系統(UMTS)間緊密互作之系統架構,其並具有 能支援下述之架構: 於兩系統間之交接; 當終端在兩系統間交接時,通話管理及連接;以及 在兩系統間鬆散互相作用國際漫遊通信定義表。 【發明内容】 WLAN及UMTS技術係有效地相結合,以相互作用及支持 一緊始、互作通信定義表。UMTS之Iur介面係被用於無損失的交 接,行動網際協定(IP)則被利用於通話管理及連接,而 DIAMETER通訊協定訊號則被用於認證及會計。 【實施方式】 第1圖顯示-系統架構1G,其包括-公共區域行動網路 (PLMN) 12,而該公共區域行動網路12係包含_本籍位置登記 /本籍用戶伺服器(HLR/HSS) 14、一認證授權及會計用戶二備 (AAAH) 16、一計費通訊閘功能(CGF) 18、一本籍客服以 200803296 及一整合封包式無線服務支援節點沿GSN)22。 一無線區域網路網際協定通訊閘(WLANIP GW),也就是 WIP-GW 30,在結合防火牆後,可利用兩個Ap建立起信號及 資料之界面;例如AP 32和34。使用者設備(UE) 36以雙模態 WLAN/UMTS UE較好。 ’ 系統中之資料處理程序如下: 在PLMN 12之WIP-GW 30及本籍客服20之間具有一行動 網際協定(MIP)界面。WIP-GW 30係結合行動網際協定外部客 服之功能與數種無線網路控制(RNC)之功能,WIP-GW30對於 PLMN 12來說像是一外部客服、但對於ap來說則像是一無線 區域網路控制器(RNC),輸入的資料係傳送於PLMN (本籍客 服)和WLAN (WIP-GW) 30間之通道,正如輸入資料線%所 表示,輸出的資料則直接從WIP-GW30流向網際網路4〇,如輪 出網際協定貢料線42所表示。 PLMN 12藉由使用其HSS/HLR 14以提供認證與訂購管理 的服務。DIAMETER是一種網際協定網路中處理授權、認證 及會計功能的網際主協定(IPdomainprotocol),在本結構中 DIAMETER的使用使得以網際協定ip為基礎的認證、授權及會 計(AAA)程序能夠在WIP-GW和PLMN之間正常運作。由二 PLMN原本即為一種UMTS網路,所以在PLMN提供認證與授 權程序的節點是HSS/HLR,而提供會計功能的PLMN節點是叶 費通訊閘功能(CGF)。HSS/HLR和CGF提供UMTS程序及信號 發送以幫助這些功能運作。AAAH提供以網際協定為基礎的 AAA程序和與其相對應的UMTS程序間之信號發送互作,使得 輸入或輸出於HS S/HLR和CGF的AAA功能也能在無線區域網 路系統中運作,同樣地,MIP提供網際協定網路中的行動管理 6 200803296 私序。在一個UMTS網路中,封包轉換資料服務的行動管理程 序係由GGSN所處理。本結構中的本籍客服針提供介 於MIP程序(於WIP_GW和本籍客服間運作)以及UMTS行動應 用部份(MAP)介面之間的互作,號係自 WIP-GW30輸出後,途經AAA外部(AAAF)功能44以及AAA用 戶(AAAH)功能16,最後輸入本籍客服2〇。而ΜΠ>登錄信息則 是透過無線連結48而被納入DIAMETER信號發送中。 AAAH 16針對HLR/HSS 14而藉由行動應用部份 (MAPX鍺介面)而與DIAMETER互作,使得hss/hu^於認證 之運作正常。 、AAAH 16係使用GPRS穿隧協定(GTP)(藉由鎵介面)而作 為PLMN計費通訊閘功能(CGF)18之介面,以使得?1^_收費 伺服器之運作正常。 、 !線區域網路和UMTS PLMN 12之間的通話連續性可藉 由使用MIP (於WIP-GW30和本籍客服20之間)和GTP (於本 籍各服20和GGSN22之間)而獲得,而本籍客服2〇提供兩種介 面間之互作,通話連續性可確保使用者在存取點(Access Point,例如32及34)間和UMTS及WLAN網路間移動時,其通 話及網際協定位址皆能保持不變。而更為進步的是,當使用者 在各網路間移動時,GGSN 22之運作正如同通話資料的錨點 (Anchor P〇int)。舉例來說,在結構1〇中,如果使用者如第2圖 所示地,自無線區域網路移動到UMTS網路(UMTS八⑺⑽Nw) 5〇時,使用者的通話位置在GGSN 22中仍然是固定的,且因此 在移動當中亦能夠保持。當位於UMTS Access Nw 5〇時,使用 者設備36係藉由PLMN中的UMTS無線存取網路(RAN)和伺服 GpRS支援節點(SGSN)元件52而能與錨點的GGSN22通信。無 7 200803296 線區域網路和UMTS PLMN之間的交接係藉由Iur介面(以你表 示)所完成,而WIP-GW則支援自UMTS Iur界面46至1;乂了^ RAN内之無線網路控制器(rnc)的運作。 【圖式簡單說明】 第1圖及第2圖係分別為將本發明之原則具體化的wlan& UMTS網路系統架構圖。 【主要元件符號說明】 10系統架構 12公共區域行動網路 14本籍位置登記/本籍用戶伺服器 16認證授權及會計用戶設備 18計費通訊閘功能 20本籍客服 22整合封包式無線服務支援節點
