Abstract
It is an object of the present invention to provide a method and a device for collecting a valuable resource namely In from waste LCD in the form of an alloy or an elemental metal, in which In is not required to be collected in indium hydroxide state, but can be collected as a valuable metal so that where in collection, no bad handling as in the case of an indium hydroxide would occur, enabling it to be easily collected with filter and the like, and further, notably improving a collection rate of In. It is characterized in that a waste LCD containing indium tin oxide is crushed, the indium tin oxide is dissolved from the crushed waste LCD with use of acid, thereby obtaining a solution containing an indium compound, the thus obtained solution is flown into a collecting reactor while metal particles comprising a metal having higher ionization tendency than In is added in the collecting reactor, the metal particles are fluidized, In or an In alloy contained in the indium-compound-containing solution is separated out on the surfaces of the metal particles, and then the In or In alloy separated out is peeled off from the metal particles by a peeling means, and the peeled In or In alloy in solid form is separated and collected.
