Abstract

The invention relates to a solid bowl screw centrifuge of cylindrical construction for the separation of suspensions which are difficult to separate. With the aim of reducing the production, maintenance and operating costs, the object is to increase the separation performance and the degree of separation. The object is achieved according to the invention by a cylindrical solid bowl screw centrifuge which has at the end of the separation space a separation disc with an annular gap between the separation disc and the centrifuge drum. Clear phase channels are arranged radially in the screw in front of, and spaced from, the separation disc. The clear phase channels open into an axially arranged clear phase discharge duct, which leads out of the centrifuge drum and has a control element outside the centrifuge drum. A sediment channel is arranged, likewise radially to the centrifuge axis, immediately after the separation disc, and opens into a sediment discharge duct arranged coaxially with the clear phase discharge duct. This sediment discharge duct likewise leads out of the centrifuge drum. A measurement cell for determining the dry matter content is arranged in the region of the sediment discharge duct situated outside. The measurement cell and the control element are connected via a pulse lead. <IMAGE>
