Abstract

Pneumatic piston shift drive with four shift positions, especially for vehicle gearboxes, in which in a working cylinder three working chambers provided with pressurised gas connections are divided up by means of two pistons, of which the first piston is provided with a piston rod forming the shift rod, on which the second piston is displaceably carried. Between the pistons a middle stop common to these is fixed on the cylinder and on the second piston a spacer determining the smallest distance of the pistons from one another is formed. The centre position of the piston rod for venting of all working chambers is set by an arrangement, acting on the piston rod, of stop rings displaceable on the piston rod and acting in concert with stop shoulders on the piston rod and stop surfaces on the cylinder, and a compression spring supported between these.
