Abstract

A pneumatic or hydraulic motor has two cylinders (1, 2) in line with each other within a common casing. They are separated by a dividing wall (3). There is a double acting piston (4, 5) in each cylinder. The pistons are joined together by two or more hollow rods (7, 8). The rods have ports (9, 10, 11, 12) into the cylinder working chambers (6, 6/1, 6/2, 6/3) arranged in pairs in such a way as to provide the correct sequence of connections between the two cylinders. There are two sliding valves for the motor which are placed next to each other over ports in the dividing wall (3) between the cylinders. This makes it possible for their movements to be synchronised. Their motion is reversed by magnetic switches.
