Abstract

A brake master cylinder (1) has a central valve located in a piston (4) for creating a pressure balance between a pressure chamber (6) of the brake cylinder and a reservoir (connected to inlets), the valve including a valve element (8), which is spring-loaded in the closing direction, with a tappet (9) arranged in a longitudinal through- bore of the piston, a stop (15) being provided for actuation of the tappet at the end of the return stroke of piston (4), which stop is formed fast with the housing. A pin (13) mounted in circlip (14) is located in a recess (12) of the piston (4) and is engaged by the piston on its actuation, the recess (12) being so dimensioned as to permit an axial relative movements of the pin (13) with respect to the piston (4). <IMAGE>
