Abstract

Arrangement for determining the quantity and size of particles in liquids, wherein a light beam from a light source 7 is taken through a flow of test liquid and a light detector 8 detects light scattered by or reflected from the particles. In previously known techniques, the flow of test liquid was usually surrounded with an envelope of flowing, particle-free liquid. According to the invention, on the other hand, the liquid is introduced through a nozzle 3 into a reception channel 4 while observing a relationship between the nozzle and the reception channel, lying between 1:4 and 1:7. Suitable conditions for the measurement of light scattering at the outlet of the nozzle are then achieved. <IMAGE>
