Abstract
The present invention concerns a valve for controlling the pressure in the outlet branch pipe of a piston pump to create a pressure for regulating the stroke length of the pump piston. According to the invention, such a valve contains a valve cylinder 8 with a continuous bore 9, a pressure inlet port 2, which extends outside the valve and stands in communication with the valve's cylinder bore, so that the inlet pressure is taken up by the valve, a spring-loaded valve bobbin 18, which is arranged in the bore of the valve cylinder and can be influenced by the inlet pressure to move by overcoming the spring loading, first and second orifices 10, 12, which stand in communication with the bore of the valve cylinder and are arranged with the valve bobbin so that the movement of the bobbin increases the area in one of the first and second orifices and reduces the area in the other of the orifices in order to generate a control pressure, a pressure outlet port 4, which extends outside the valve, and an arrangement 14 which stands in communication with the first and second orifices and the pressure outlet port, with the control pressure transmitted by the arrangement to the pressure outlet port and from this to outside the valve. The valve according to the invention is primarily intended for use in fuel pumps. <IMAGE>
