Abstract
1522629 Hydrotreatment catalysts SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 16 Sept 1975 [18 Sept 1974] 38013/75 Heading B1E [Also in Division C5] Catalysts have a quotient pd>15, where p is the specific average pore diameter in nm and d is the specific average particle diameter in mm; at least 50% of the total pore volume in pores of diameter >100nm; at least 0.2 ml/g of pore volume in pores of diameter >50nm; and a specific surface area >150 m<SP>2</SP>/g, the catalyst comprising a hydrogenation component and having been prepared by the nodulizing technique from a starting material with a specific surface area >200 m<SP>2</SP>/g. The catalyst can be used in the demetallisation and upgrading of hydrocarbon oils.
