Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the food industry, in particular, to methods for germinating seeds for use as a food product.
Seedlings of seeds of various agricultural plants are used in nutrition as a component of the health complex, which helps to strengthen the body and prolong human life.
RU 2140137 С1, 02.10.1998 г.).Closest to the proposed method of seed germination is a method of producing biomass of food seedlings consisting in the fact that the seeds fill part of the volume of the glass container - jars, add water to it to a height exceeding the height of seed placement, close the neck with gauze and incubate the seeds in a jar under water until swelling. After that, the water is drained through the throat covered with gauze, and the container jar is installed in the water tray, turning it upside down with a slope of 45 degrees, and further seed germination is carried out in conditions of high humidity to obtain seedlings. To fill the container jar, use spring water (see Pat. RU 2140137 C1, 02.10.1998).
The disadvantages of this method is the bulkiness of the devices used: a glass jar - the inconvenience and danger of using a glass container for germination; the presence of a tray used to maintain the necessary moisture inside the glass jar; the presence of spring water. All these conditions require a significant investment of time in obtaining food biomass of seedlings in domestic conditions and the inability to use this method of germination on the road and outside the house.
The objective of the proposed method is to eliminate the above disadvantages, simplification and cheapening of the method.
The problem is solved by obtaining biomass of food seedlings of agricultural crops by a method that includes filling part of the container with seeds, immersing them in water, incubating the seeds until swelling, draining the water and further germinating the seeds to obtain seedlings. In this case, a food package made of a polypropylene biaxially oriented film uniformly perforated over the entire surface of the package with holes of 0.2-3.0 mm is used as a container. The size of the holes depends on the size of the grain - the larger the grain, the larger the size of the perforations. A single serving of seeds is placed in the container, and the seeds are incubated until they swell by completely immersing the seed bag in water and keeping it at room temperature. After that, the bag is removed, the water is drained and the greenhouse conditions for seed germination are created by placing the bag with seeds in a hermetically sealed transparent container. As a transparent container, in particular, a plastic bag is used. Germination of seeds is carried out at a temperature of 22-24C.
The technical result in the proposed method is achieved by the fact that the seeds are placed in a single container in the volume of one portion of seedlings, sufficient for one use, which eliminates the need for their storage and the danger of rotting. A single package prevents the spread of mold on the seeds contained in it and does not require grain sorting, since the grains used to produce food biomass of seedlings, placed in a container bag, undergo preliminary preparation, namely, sieving and removal of diseased and infected grains. In addition, seed germination is carried out in a container bag manufactured industrially by forming and temperature gluing joints made of polypropylene biaxially oriented food grade film with perforations with diameters from 0.2 to 3 mm across the entire canvas of the bag. The combination of properties of the package container brings the conditions of germination closer to the natural conditions of seed germination. The package container has aero and hygroscopic properties, which allows seeds to breathe during storage, absorb moisture in sufficient quantities when soaked, provides oxygen access to the grain and carbon dioxide removal during germination.
The technical result of the invention is to simplify the method of obtaining seed biomass by eliminating energy costs, eliminating the use of special technical devices, reducing the time spent on the production of germinated grain with high quality of the resulting product.
An example implementation:
In a perforated bag-container with a hole diameter of 0.5 mm, made of a biaxially oriented polypropylene film, wheat seeds are laid in the amount of 1/4 of the bag volume and sealed. For seed germination, the bag is placed in a container with water 3-4 cm above the edge of the bag and the seeds are incubated soaked for 12-14 hours until swelling at a temperature of 18-24 ° C, which corresponds to room temperature. After the specified time, the bag is removed from the tank, water is drained through the perforations and placed in another, larger in volume, plastic bag. The bag is sealed to create a greenhouse effect. The stage of germination, to obtain seedlings, is carried out at a temperature in the range of 22-24 C. After 48 hours, the biomass of the seedlings is ready for use.
The timing of the soaking and germination of seeds of other crops differ from each other and are determined experimentally.
The proposed method for producing food biomass of seeds of agricultural plants allows to obtain seedlings in a continuous cycle of germination of individual portions of the product every day, of high quality with minimal labor and personal time for their cultivation.
