A movable counterweight of a crane consisting of a lever mounted on a hinge, a counterweight mounted on one arm of the lever, cable traction connecting the arrow of the crane with the other arm of the lever, characterized in that, in order to reduce the height, the counterweight consists of two halves, fixed to two levers located on the sides of the turntable, in order to increase the moment from the counterweight, the levers are pivotally attached to the cross beam connecting two movable trolleys moving along the riding beams, races laid on the sides of the turntable, having consoles along the beams of a length equal to the other shoulder of the lever and connected to the lever of the lever with pulleys having a common rope, combined with a runaway thread of the pulley block with an equalization block of two rollers so that two branches of the common rope fit the tubular beam, connecting both consoles, from opposite sides, so as not to impede the movement of the trolleys along the riding beams and not create additional loads on the trolleys, and the levers have two stops to limit the gates from the maximum to the minimum outreach of the counterweight relative to the hinge, in order to balance not only the boom moment but also the load moment, the carts are moved along the inclined driving beams using a chain hoist, the run-off thread of which is connected to the crane arm, if the crane is in the boom version, or with a triangular shunting rack beak, if the crane is in a tower-boom design, and the trolleys move regardless of the size of the counterweight offset relative to the hinges.
