Description

Memória Descritiva
A presente invenção refere-se a uma união para tubagem em resina à base de cloreto de vinilo, compreendendo um anel de estanquicidade em borracha termoplástica, fixada em posição por soldadura na união.
Já foi proposto realizar uniões para tubagem em matéria plástica recorrendo-se a um anel de estanquicidade em borracha termoplástica, fixado por soldadura na união.
borracha de etileno-propileno-dieno-metileno vulcanisada com enxofre ou com um produto dador de enxofre, que pode ser fixado em posição por soldadura na união.
Todavia, um anel de estanquicidade construido neste material não pode ser convenientemente fixado por soldadura na união de tubagem construida em resina à base de cloreto de vinilo, devido á ausência de compatibilidade.
Na verdade, na Patente BE-A-867 993 foi proposto construir uniões para tubagem em resina à base de cloreto de vinilo munidas de um anel de estanquicidade em borracha termoplástica obtida a partir de composiçoes de policloreto de vinilo plastificado contendo borracha de nitrilo e poliuretano, que ê fixado por soldadura, mas para obter neste caso produtos satisfatórios torna-se necessário submeter pelo menos um dos elementos da união a uma irradiação por raios muito penetrantes, tendo em vista provocar uma reticulaçao. Mesta técnica deve-se no entanto utilizar composiçoes à base de policloreto de vinilo plastificado, nas quais a reacção de reticulaçao pretendida predomine relativamente à degradação induzida pela reticulaçao. De qualquer modo, para realizar estas uniões é necessário dispor-se de uma instalação de irradiação, prever um passo de irradiaçao e tomar todas as precauções que se impõem nas operaçoes de irradiaçao.
Descobriu-se agora que é possível, nas instalações de fabricaçao convencionais, em resina a base de cloreto de vinilo compreendendo um anel de estanquicidade em borracha termoplástica que pode ser fixado na sua posição nas uniões por soldadura, e isto sem se tornar necessário proceder a qualquer tratamento por irradiação.
A invenção refere-se, por conseguinte, a uma uniáo para tubagem em resina à base de cloreto de vinilo, compreendendo um anel de estanquicidade em borracha termoplástica fixado por soldadura na união, na qual o anel de estanquicidade é construido a partir de uma mistura, parcialmente vulcanisada, de um copolímero de etileno com pelo menos um comonómero copolimerizável e 5 até 75%, de preferência 20 a 60% em peso, da mistura de um polímero de um halogeneto de vinilo ou de vinilide:
Por resina a base de cloreto de vinilo entendem-se os homopolímeros do cloreto de vinilo, assim coma as copolímeros contendo pelo menos 50% molar de unidades derivadas do cloreto de vinilo.
Entre os comonómeros que podem ser copolimerizados com o etileno preferem-se geralmente os monómeros insaturados etilenicamente, tais como os ácidos mono ou dicarboxílicos e os seus ésteres derivados, os ésteres vinilicos, os monómeros acrílicos ou metacrílicos, o óxido de carbono e o dióxido de enxofre.
□ polímero de halogeneto de vinilo ou de vinilideno pode ser um homopolímero ou um copolímero contendo nomeadamente unidades derivadas de ésteres vinilicos, de nitrilo acrílico, de ésteres acrílicos, de cloreto de vinilo ou de vinilideno, de ácidos carboxílicos insaturados ou de éteres vinilicos, sendo o polímero preferido o policloreto de vinilo.
As misturas que convém particularmente para realizar o anel de estanquicidade, assim como o seu modo de fabricação, estão descritos no documento EP-A-0 101 833 cujo conteúdo é incorporado para referência na memória.
As misturas para realizar o anel de estanquicidade da união de acordo com a invenção sao particularmente vulcanizadas, de preferencia até um teor em gel de 10 a 7D% medido por dissolução em tetrahidrofurano, como está descrito no documento EP-A-D 101 B33 acima citado.
Estas misturas podem igualmente conter aditivos que são comuns, tais como matérias de carga, lubrificantes, estabilisadores e/ou plastificantes.
Misturas que convém particularmente bem para realizar o anel de estanquicidade da união de acordo com a invenção sao produzidas e vendidas pela firma Ε. I. du PONT DE NEM0UR5, sob a marca comercial ALCRYN. Estas misturas permanecem termicamente estáveis até pelo menos 200sC, podendo ser facilmente moldadas por injecção ou por compressão em instalações clássicas, e não exigem qualquer operação de vulcanização quando da sua moldagem.
De acordo com uma primeira variante de realizaçao da união para tubagem de acordo com a invenção, o anel de estanquicidade e a união em resina à base de cloreto de vinilo podem ser moldados separadamente por técnicas correntes, tais como a moldagem por compressão, a moldagem por injecção, ou a termomoldagem, sendo a moldagem do anel de estanquicidade realizada a uma temperatura compreendida entre 140 e 190sC. Neste caso o anel de estanquicidade previamente moldado é em seguida introduzido na união e fixado em posição por soldadura, por uma técnica convencional, tal como a soldadura por espelho de aquecimento, soldadura por ultrassons, soldadura por resistência eléctrica, soldadura por fricção, soldadura a alta frequência ou ainda a soldadura por vibrações. D anel de estanquicidade pode ser evidentemente moldado de forma tal que a sua fixação seja realizada sobre uma face interna e/ou externa da união. Uma fixação sobre a face externa da união pode por outro lado revelar-se útil quando se pretenda proteger a extremidade da união contra choques. Quando a fixação é realizada pela técnica de soldadura por espelho de aquecimento utiliza-se geralmente uma temperatura de espelho de 200 a 2405C, uma pressão de solda dura de 0,1 a 0,3 N/mm e um tempo de soldadura de 15 a 60 segundos
De acordo com uma outra variante de realizaçao da união para tubagem que se revela mais económica, a união e o anel de estanquicidade podem ser moldados simultaneamente pela técnica de coinjecção, tal como está descrita nomeadamente nos documentos ΒΕ-Α-Θ38 058, BE-A-853 292, EP-A-0 031 620 , EP-A-0 188 012, EP-A-0 188 300 e EP-A-0 188 301. Neste caso a temperatura de injecção do material que forma o anel de estanquicidade é escolhida de modo a assegurar a fixaçao directa por soldadura do anel de estanquicidade moldado na união.
De acordo com uma terceira variante o anel de estanquicidade munido de um anel de retenção rígido em matéria plástica, de preferência em policloreto de vinilo, fixado por soldadura, pode ser produzido separadamente por exemplo pela técnica de coinjecção e este conjunto é em seguida inserido e fixado por soldadura através do anel de retenção, na união moldada. Uma técnica deste tipo está descrita no documento
GB-A-2 144 190.
Na união de acordo com a invenção é ainda possível, se desejado, moldar um anel de estanquicidade reforçado por um reforço inserido internamente, metálico ou de outra natureza. Este inserto pode em particular ser uma resistência eléctrica nos casos em que se tem em vista uma fixação posterior por soldadura eléctrica.
A unfão para tubagem de acordo com a invenção pode ser ou uma união de encaixe face a face de qualquer tipo, ou ainda uma união de derivação, tal como está descrita no documento BE-A-833 318.
A união para tubagem de acordo com a invenção está ilustrada nas figuras das desenhos anexos, nas quais as figs. 1 até 3 mostram em vista parcial, variantes de realização possíveis de uniões de encaixe, e a fig. 4 uma vista de uma união de derivação. Nestas figuras o anel de estanquicidade 1 em borracha termoplástica de acordo com a invenção, é fixado por uma soldadura 2 sobre as paredes interna e/ou externa da união 3 moldada em policloreto de vinilo rígido.
A união para tubagem de acordo com a invenção é ainda ilustrada pela descrição que se segue de um exemplo de realização prática de uma união do tipo ilustrado na figura 2.
Exemplo
Realiza-se por moldagem por transferi um anel de estanquicidade com o perfil representado na fig. 2, utilizando como material grânulos de resina ALORYN, de dureza 70 Shore A.
Para esse efeito o material, em quantidade doseada, é colocado na matriz mantida a 16Q2C e depois de um tempo de aquecimento de 10 min, efectua-se a moldagem por pressão. Depois do arrefecimento da matriz até à temperatura ambiente, retira-se □ anel de estanquicidade moldado.
□ anel de estanquicidade assim obtido é em seguida fixado sobre a extremidade da união em policloreto de vinilo, previamente moldada por termomoldagem, pela técnica de soldadura por espelho de aquecimento. Para esse efeito o espelho é mantido a 22DSC, a pressão de soldadura aplicada é de 0,2 N/mm e o tempo de soldadura é de 30 segundos.
Depois do arrefecimento verifica-se que □ anel de estanquicidade está perfeitamente soldado sobre a união e que este anel se rompe quando se tenta arrancá-lo da união, e isto sem que a soldadura ceda

    - 1® União para tubagem em resina à base de cloreto de vinilo compreendendo um anel de estanquicidade em borracha termoplástica realizado a partir de uma mistura parcialmente vulcanizada de um copolímero de etileno com pele menos 1 monómero copolimerizável e 5 até 75%, em peso da mistura, de um polímero de halogeneto de vinilo ou de vinilideno, caracterizada pelo facto de o anel de estanquicidade ser fixado na união por soldadura.
