Wynalazek dotyczy sposobu wytwarzania fenyloizo(tio)-cyjanianów o ogólnym wzorze (I), zgodnie z którym związek o ogólnym wzorze (II) lub jego addukt HCl poddaje się reakcji ze środkiem fosgenującym, przy czym W oznacza atom tlenu lub siarki, a Ar i A mają znaczenie podane w zastrzeżeniu 1. Wynalazek dotyczy również zastosowania fenyloizo(tio)cyjanianów do wytwarzania środków ochrony roślin.
