Abstract

Air-cooled grate surface, in particular for stoking grates in refuse incineration plants, two adjacently arranged grate bars in each case forming a flow channel, which is bounded by the grate bar back, the grate bar foot and its supporting webs and has an outlet to the combustion space through clearances arranged in the grate bar head. An improved cooling of the grate bar back is achieved and clogging of the air outlets by refuse and slag particles is avoided in the following way a) the air outlets formed by two clearances (7) have a cross-sectional widening in the direction of flow; b) the air outlets have an angle B = 5 DEG to 60 DEG with respect to the grate bar back (6) downwards in the direction of flow; c) the grate bar head (3) is bevelled from the top towards the rear and has from lateral edges (8) one or more clearances (7) arranged one above the other.
