Abstract

Referida a una formulacion para el control de insectos que incluye eugenol metilico, cue lure y un portador de cera biodegradable, en la que el eugenol metilico y el cue lure se encuentran dispersos en dicho portador de cera biodegradable y en la que el portador biodegradable es operable para liberar el eugenol metilico y el cue lure durante un periodo de tiempo que se extiende por lo menos cuatro semanas. Dicha formulacion es un atrayente sorprendentemente eficaz para la mosca oriental de la fruta (Bactrocera dorsalis) y para la mosca del melon (Bactrocera cucurbitae). Las realizaciones de la formulacion que incluyen, por lo menos, una sustancia toxica para los insectos son sorprendentemente eficaces para su uso en los sistemas para atraer y matar las moscas de la fruta MAT y son adecuadas para los usos de cultivos agricolas y no agricolas. Las realizaciones de la formulacion se pueden proporcionar en forma de emulsiones acuosas que tienen viscosidades apropiadas para su uso en aplicaciones de pulverizacion aerea o mochila o para la entrega usando dispositivos tipo pistola para calafatear o dispositivos de tipo de bomba de engrase.
